Engine problems
NOT MINE!! Copied this out of my thread for a new member (BLACKHAWK300) as he is having problems and I haven't got a clue. hi,anybody like to try and help with this not so quick fix??? 1990 tt auto,sluggish holds back then stalls, smells of fuel, the tappets started to rattle got into work lifted the bonnet and smoke everywhere,i reved the car the smoke out the back was going between black and grey with a back fire....that was about 2 ish finished work about 8hrs later thinking it aint going to start, fired straight up drove like 4 miles into my 8 mile dive home it started to rattle a bit i left a bmw of the lights like there was nothing wrong with it...im confused, any help would be great thanks......

Courtesy car
My old zed's insurance included a like for like courtesy car in the event my car was off the road. When I asked for a one expecting a 350z or similiar they offered me a ford Ka!! Told the bloke I'd rather feckin walk! And how does that compare to a 300BHP GT car? Never got an answer.

That's what I was thinking as it's the only tapered pipe I can think of.

How crucial is the fan shroud? can I remove it and leave it off?
I think it helps direct air onto the fan and does help cooling, but could be wrong.

Cured my Misfire
I was having a great deal of trouble finding the cause of a misfire on my no.1 cylinder. I change the coil pack twice for know good ones, checked the injector was firing properly, changed both the coil and inj connectors for new ones, tried a different spark plug but still the misfire was there! I then had a look at my relocated PTU and the 7 pin side had been getting water in to it and had rusted up plus the loom connectors were green! A quick clean up and the misfire had gone :thumbup: Need to replace the loom part that's corroded and re-think my location for the PTU (on inner wing next to batt) but I call that a result.

Sorry re-read your post and this is probably of more help. lol The arrows show the ABS cables.

Cheers mate, I had completely forgotten about the oil cooler! lol Yeah the pipe is connected to the wastegate (one each side), that's cool then. I will be fitting an EBC so I don't need to worry about the tips then.

I've been replacing vacuum piping on my spare engine getting it ready to go in my beast but I can't work out where this pipe goes? The vacumm diagram says it goes to the throttle bodies but where abouts? (photo 1) Also, I took the other side off to replace and found a metal restricter in the end, I can only assume that this is a mig tip. My old zed that the engine came from did boost off the scale and didn't have any after market boost controllers, so I did think "boost jets". I this right? Oh yeah, I forgot. Where do the two oil lines that come out of the oil pan go to? (photo 2) Cheers Dave
