  1. Never tried a back brace but since it'll keep your back straight I can't see it not helping, so worth a try. Be careful with the codien though as it's very addictive. The voltarol will help your muscles relax and the codien should deal with the pain. Jane may have more info since she's the forum nurse. lol
  2. You may as well rub bisto on it than ibuprofen Gel. You could try Voltarol and over the counter paracetamol and codien(sp?). The pain your probably getting is more likely caused by your back twisting to compensate for the slipped disc. This causes your muscles to stretch and ache and stiffens your whole body.
  3. Yeah, I compressed/slipped a disc when I was in my twenties. Thought I was having a heart attack and couldn't move. iirc they gave me diclofenic (Voltarol) and decodamol or something like that. That helped but I still occasionally get a twinge every now and again 15 years later. I just know to take it easy if the back starts twinging.
  4. who? never heard of him....:whistling: welcome back bud :sailor:
  5. It's pin 44 on the main ECU mate. HTH
  6. Yep, manual too :( Had to wire in my leathers. iirc the velour trim was optional and leather was standard in the s2 uk's.
  7. Mine wasn't :( But then If I want a warm arse, i'll just fart
  8. Yeah, they used the 2.6 lump in the newer GSi's didn't they? Mine was a pre face saloon (best looking one they made. lol)
  9. Electronic Boost Controller mate. Getting the car chipped won't increase your boost but it will prepare the fuel map for a higher boost. To increase boost you need to use an EBC or mig jets (welding tips pushed into one of the vac lines coming from the tub). Getting your car chipped and an EBC will see you getting 14 to 16psi on full whack and that's a massive difference to stock.
  10. The lump in my old Vectra GSi was 192bhp but it had the 3l cams. Was a quick car that just kept pulling, obviously not to zed standards though lol
  11. If your confident in doing the work yourself then go for it. If your having doubts though, I'd get a Pro like Jimmer to do it.
  12. Personally I would get a gauge that's in psi, I find it easier than bar but it's down to personal choice. Zedworld or John Dixon for the chip. Are you going for an EBC?
  13. Sure did, my engine was smoking and had done 130k miles so I swapped it with the one from my JDM which was a fresh import from Japan with less than 60k on it (the engine that is not the zed). I really took my time over it both getting the old one out and putting the new one in. Did the cam belt, pcv, temps sensors, bypasses etc and gave it a bit of a touch up before installing it. Did a lot of cleaning and spraying in the bay before it went in as well. First time I'd done an engine swap but it was fun. lol
  14. None, but I have done a transplant. Started first time too, so I was chuffed.lol
  15. That's the easy part! It's remembering where everything goes when you put it back that's a bugger
  16. There nice and subtle mate, going to look great when done
  17. Happy Birthday Miss Anus. Have a good 'un.
  18. Looks smart that mate :)
  19. I'd only had the policy for a month as well :) And hadn't even got round to sending in the photo's for agreed value. It took them 2 days to send an inspector to check the car out and he called me that day with an offer. He'd even taken into account that it had a brand new mongoose system on the back and upped the offer for it. He then arranged for me to buy the car back. Can't fault the service. Just a pity a JDM had to die :whistling:
  20. My JDM was insured by them and they paid out straight away when I wrote it off. Was the cheapest quote I could find at the time.
