might just be the silicone pipes that have split ,that attach the two water pipes to the block you can get to them without stripping the fan/housing you will need a long socket with allen key end on

was going to use some engine flush,b4 my oil change (slight tappet noise) but read a few threads on here that say this is not a good idea why ????? seems like a good idea to me, to clean it out have also got some thinner starting oil 5w 30, is this ok ?
