if your going to strip it down,then best to give smithy a call, and replace the two small water pipes and thermostat at same time would be a shame to put it all back together and find one of these is faulty, for the few quid they cost

just a thought greg have you got one of those gator wrenches (think thats what they call them) its like a socket with loads of pins inside it, which tightens up on rounded off nuts, as you turn it
