There are people who have tried led's in the rear lights i think, some look good and others dont though...depending on how the led's sit they can also still be bought through e-bay i think as completed units :)

mine are standard although some chrome the ledge inside so that is more than likely what your thinking, thought about doing mine but not took the plunge as yet and no worries on the help :)
