RE: revenue from tobacco duty and cost to NHS - I think you'll find that now the cost to the NHS is greater than revenue from tobacco. It evened out last year I think. IMO there should be an age limit on free treatment, limited to the age where 'smoking kills' is common knowlledge. It's like breaking your leg purposefully and expecting treatment for it for free- its wrong.

I have friends in holland and they say normal unleaded is about 1.65 euros! so about £1.10 a litre... do you think that perhaps that now were in with europe it'll simply level up to what they pay in europe? sayingthat isnt france quite a bit cheaper?

its cool (and dangerous i guess) changing your speed with the steering wheel, you can sit with your legs crossed if u want :D my ford probe v6 would happily let you set cruise at above 70, I tried it at 140 and it worked (although it struggles on hills).

the running costs have alot to do with it im sure... sure get a nice minter for 5k, it'll be 10-15 years old and it'll most likely cost a packet to keep on the road. From what ive seen and read, they are not cheap cars at all! Still, wont put me off buying one, but I'm setting back 10k for the car purchase, few small mods and some money for a bad day. Would hate it if I'd bought one and it ended up in the garage for 9 months of the year...
