  6. 2.2 16v be careful with vetras tho there is a known fault with some of the engine chains. the oil ways can become blocked causing the chin to run dry. if it snaps its catastrophic engine failure. my brother had this exact problem and had the engine replaced by vauxhall bacause of it under warrenty.
  7. well i had a crunch when changing from 3-4 i changed the oil to a good qwality oil. as the oil looked awful! havent had the problem since. apparently the manuals suffer from weak syncros on them gears the later boxes supposed to have "fixed" the problem. i would recommend start there also check your clutch master cylinder and clutch fluid are not leaking out . another possible cause 'could' be a bent clutch fork but unlikely. thats not an exhausted list im sure others would be able to help out better
  8. Everybody slagging it off but i see it as ingenious. And a feat of engineering.

  14. great info jeff. i have a problem with my power steering tho and no other fault (speedo works perfectly etc) its intermittent and the power steering generally becomes how it should (light at low speeds )when its humid-wet outside. i have looked over all the connectors i can see and cleaned them but the issue still remains. what do you recon that could be?? cheers gaz
  15. if the motor doesn't spin it could be gummed up with dust etc. i had a faulty motor and i sprayed wd40 into it while turning it and a load of shit came out! dried it off etc and replaced it and it has worked ever since.
  16. well i had to drive home today in a blizzard!! was a bloody nightmare as the roads were slush. 2 gear pull aways off of a roundabout on half clutch still saw the back end loose grip. spent most of the 6 mile journey in 3 gear but was wierd 2nd gear @ 500 rpm entering roundabouts!!
  17. the engine was fine just head gasket went. i had a spare car so swapped engines as i wanted to change the clutch rad and stuff anyway. soo i have a head if yours is fooked mate :D
