  1. Wow, this is an old thread. I did remove the wiper and spoiler and I think the car looked much better for it, and the boot held itself up on it's gas struts. It was never a problem come MOT time (although there were many others!) but I don't have the car anymore. Anyone know of K403 MGW? It was a TT Manual so not too common. I loved it but a combination of no wedge and a new-born meant it had to go.
  2. I had what I thought was a Momo but it broke and failed the MOT! Probably a copy but it came with the car. This has got to be a rare failure, or I'm a bit tense when I drive?? I had to get a wheel quick for the MOT and guessed the size at 300mm, I was quite a bit out. It's very small. I am getting used to it though and it is VERY go-kart like but impossible to see the dials, I'll have to get the road angel out.
  3. Has anyone ever fitted these? If so how do you get the old bushes out? Do the new ones need pressing in?
  4. It's very quiet in here.
  5. ..just, so I think they'll take 3 days as it's the weekend. Thanks, looking forward to subscribed status again after all this time!
  6. Andy, why can't I add to that post then? Doobs isn't me, only Doobs too and Doobs too 2.
  7. I've got to agree, use them every day and they keep going. Park them up and they rot, same with all old cars. Thank god my brother parked his car up and used mine while i was away, only to have to get his sorted for the MOT (mine passed!).
  8. I've got them but don't know what they're like yet. My brother has my car, he fitted them and he said local wildlife was reporting sleeping difficulties. From what I've read they are a worthwhile investment.
  9. Looks like a nice car Damien, I'll be back in Essex (Westcliff-on-sea) when I get back to the UK in 1 week 3 days 3 hours and 24 mins - not counting really. Mileage, about 250 to the tank, got 160 once but mostly slow trips to work down the A127 so not ideal. Average was 19mpg over a year. My justification is that there is little depreciation. If you bought a new car you'd be loosing 000's per year, more then we spend on fuel. I know what you mean about these cars, you're lucky you can get one so young, I had to wait until I was 28 until I got mine. Love it though, I wonder if I'll ever not own one.
  10. Apache, any pics of the Laguna wiper on your car? Maybe something to consider for the future. Knock knock, I've got to get this sorted before I get back to the UK so I'm going the whole hog and having the lot off. If I were to fit a wing in the future I might consider putting the wiper back, maybe. I never used the wiper when I had it so I don't think I'll miss it.
  11. "mus mushy" wa Nihongo desu ka? What is PHNW?
  12. Thanks gents, off it comes then. I have to say without a rear wing the wiper stands out, hence the desire to remove it. Legrath, what's your plan for the redundent switch?
  13. I'm having my rear spoiler removed and I'm considering a rear wiper removal too. I know it's not an MOT requirement to not have a rear wiper, as some cars don't come with them fitted, and vans etc don't have them. But it is a requirement to have it working if it's fitted. Does this mean fitted to the car as it left the factory, or just fitted at test time? What I'm getting at is does removing it actually count as removing it or simply rendering a fitted part unusable to an MOT inspector? Would I need to blank the switch off for it to pass? Your thoughts would be apprecieated, especailly if you happen to be an MOT tester or you're removed yours and passed an MOT :)
  14. Good luck in China, I'm sure you'll love it. Where will you be? Avoid soup which no one will tell you the contents of!
  15. It's been a while since I did mine but IIRC you cal tell buy looking at the position of the pivot relative to the mounting surface, the closer the pivot is to the gearbox the longer the shift.
