Hi Pete, Unfortuntely my car was on them like that for months with no probs ;)

to be honest I've never looked to see if the crossmember bends but it supports the front of the chassis so reckon it'll be fine. As people have said, throw the wheels under the sill jacking/stand points in case the worst ever happened ;) I also leave the jack in place if I can and it's not in the way of where I'm working ;)

What stands have you got? Maybe post a pic if you're worried but sure they'll be fine. There shouldn't be any bending I'd imagine but they will find their place and lock. The ones in the pic are 1.5 tonne each and there's no movement. A mechanic told me to just give them a whack with a hammer once the car's on them to make sure there's no movement.

Yes mate. It's the front garage jack point on the maual page and there's a couple of close up pics attached too

that maybe why you can't get the jack high enough to get the axle stands there ;) If you lift from the crossmember, then put an axle stand either side of the jack (on the crossmember)

Where are you trying to place the front axle stands? you can put them under the front crossmember.

Think it's more the courts who just give these scumbags a slap on the wrist :( Human rights - this lot shouldn't have any!! I actually feel sorry for the Police as they're in the middle of a low life society and forgiving judges and the people who lose out are decent people.
