  1. the reason I asked is I remember a thread where someone cut the old cable and used a deep socket over the old 02 sensor, they got more torque on it :) Vijay

  5. Morning all, Just want to check the best place to fix the inductive pickup from the timing light. I've read on TT.Net not to use the black wire from the PTU and it said you can just clamp it around the wires coming off the no.1 coilpack. Well I tried that and it didn't seem to like it :( How have you guys done it? Thanks Vijay

  10. I want to use an old Libretto inside my Z. The power supply output is 15v 2a. What would happen if I had a direct supply from the cig lighter? With the engine running it's up just over 14v, would that run it? Cheers Vijay

  15. Hi, The temp sensor was been changed a while back but I can look at that on the Conzult. Been advised by a man in the know that it looks like it could be the CAS. Gonna clean all the connectors and hope. If not, I'll have to change over the CAS :( Cheers guys, Vijay
  16. IIRC worn tub seals would allow oil past which would result in blue smoke. Can you smell any oil in the smoke? Vijay

  18. white smoke is condensation/water, blue smoke is oil, grey/black is running rich. Vijay

  21. no fuel smells until it's cut out. What's the fuel return hose? I did wonder about the fuel pump but thought there wouldn't be a smell of petrol when it cut out. The fact that there is a stong smell of petrol made me think no spark. It happens while driving as well. Mods are JWT cone filter, JWT chip with Apexi AVC-r boost controller and de-catted exhaust system. The MAF should still let it idle and go to 2500rpm in limp home mode.

  24. Hi all, I've got a cutting out problem which would suggest a failed PTU but I'm 99.9% sure it's not. Basically the engine will cut out wether idling or while driving and I will get a strong smell of petrol. The engine will then turn over but not start. A few minutes later, it'll start. It can then repeat this 5 minutes later or be fine for a few weeks. I was using a series 1 PTU and when the engine cut out, I replaced it with another series 1 PTU which I kept in the glove box and I know works but still had the same problem. I then changed it for a series 2 but today, it cut out again, so I've kinda ruled out the PTU. I've got no ecu error codes and am going to clean all the engine bay connectors tomorrow but can anyone think of what might be causing this? Cheers Vijay
