Silly, but what does my ecu look like. and what is the smaller unit underneath the larger one in the passenger footwell?

Hi Alan, I have one I got from Halfords, but your sounds so much nicer. The one I got has holes each end that a threaded (long) bolt goes through and has two small wing nuts to make it tight. Would the Z shape take those long bolts? Barry

Yes that is what I was told. So need to fix it i guess.

:)Hi, does anyone have a spare battery retaining clip/clamp/rods....whatever they are called. My bat is a bit loose without it and I have been informed may be a point for an MOT failure.

I would like to thank a member for helping me out. Groover, he came over from the isle of wight to Sussex to put in some led's in my black TT. I got my Zed from Ryan at Ztec..........it was so bad I had to go back a number of times, in the end I gave up. It has taken two years to put things right, He put 555 injectors in my car telling me it would be ok, no upgrade or replacement ECU. I knew no better then. I bloody do now.

I think that any garage that has to be taken to court for bad workmanship or overchges anyone should be named. Likewise good garages should be mentioned as I did with SPC of Horsham, new owner Phil has a good name and is resonably priced with good work as well.

Hi MARK, Thanks for that. Mmmm that sounds interesting re the ECU, do you the tel numbers of these guys. As for the wheels they are 17'' and I have just had them fully refurbished. But thanks anyway

Hi, well its official I need to upgrade my ecu. I have rebuilt turbos, and 555 injectors trying to run on my standard ECU apparently. Subsequently the turbos are restricted a bit at the moment. I have been advised to get and AEM stand -a- lone ecu. My power reading today was 280.02 ???? Me.....NOT a mechanic or car genius. Any ideas, and not too expensive, Or has anyone got a spare they could sell me. Thank you all.

Well he is out there, and they also have dy-no checking equipment newly installed. My car goes back tomorrow for a little TLC with them. Just nice people that do a good job at a fair rate.....................

SPC in Horsham West Sussex has now got a new owner Phil. I have taken my car there and they did a brilliant job, I know of at least one other member taking his zed there too. They seem to know zeds well and are keen to build on their reputation. Is there anything we as a club can do to perhaps promote them a bit. I think Improving our zeds is really important to us, Road safety too is everyones concern. I am at loss as to the insurance bit though. Do we have an insurance buff on here that can give a difinitive answer

Hi and welcome to a brilliant club. I am not a mechanical individual but just love my zed, and most people here are very helpful and knowlegeable. You can find answers to anything zed related and no doubt more!

Simple really the drivers door and the passenger door seem to have different keys, now the drivers door lock does not work propery, niether keys open the boot..........so I need to standardise all locks, simple!!

Oil...........now there is a sticky question. What oil is right for our 300's I have a 1994 TT manual UK spec, and have ON ADVICE put a 0-50 as I was informed it was thin and got around the engine quickly. But when I start my car in the mornings it rattles for a few minutes until warm, so I am not conviced I was informed correctly. Any help please. THANKS.
