Keeps the revs at a better constant. If the gearbox is spinning at 5000rpm you dont want the engine to be spinning at 2000rpm. By bliping the throtle neither the engine or gearbox need to catch up with one another.

Take 20 seconds, undo one maybe three little screws, then pop the ram in and do the screws back up. job done

Just did a quick search an the idle speed control valve seams to come up a lot with the cutting out problem.

My advise would be to go in and tell them to sort it, throw the keys at them and tell them to call you when its fixed and you want a courtesy car. Dont accept anything else, if they try to tell you otherwise say you want to speak to the owner and you want a full refund. Make a fuss and get the treatment you deserve.

PTU from the sounds of it, if yours is a series one change to a series two fella. It WILL die again soon, and then 5 min later will work agin (For a shor time) then die.

Happens all the time in the states someone running round with a swords etc cutting people up. appened in London a few years ago too.

I hate people jumping on the guns are bad bandwaggon. If it wasnt a gun it would have been a sword, if it wasn't a sword it would have been an axe, if it wasn't an axe it would have been a hammer and so on. Admitedly the death toll would most likely be a lot lower than this using a hand held hitting tool but if someone decides they are gonna go kill a load of people for no real reason thats what he will do regardless of what he uses to do it with. Exactly, put with high fuel costs, high repair costs, bad reliability, hard to work on, high miles, cost of car to cost of running is appalling! To be honest its a surprise anyone buys a zed lol
