As Chris says really, if you get a good one it wont be too bad at damaging paint, but it only takes a nice bit of grit to get under it and a bit of wind to flap the cover around a bit and its hello Mr Scratchy Scratchy

Oh come off it, who in the real world would use a spring gun for muzzle velocities requiring a firearms licence? Yes I know it was not that uncommon a few years ago when PCP guns were just entering the market but they were still not "that" powerful 20-25Lbs. You can now get a Rapid seven converted to 100 Lbs muzzle velocity AND get 50 useable shots a bottle. You are right that VERY few people bother with upgrading the spring route because it’s not that effective, but that’s not what we are talking about in this thread. We are talking about your bog standard air gun user. The under 12Lbs muzzle velocity. Co2 has always has been massive fun due to the quickness you can shoot but you won’t get near the accuracy of a PCP OR a good spring gun.

What a load of rubbish. co2 is for plinking fun. they are NOT more acurate at all due to the HUGE veriances in pressure you get in each and every shot! The cheapest spring Weihrauch on the market the HW25 would p1ss all over a high end co2 gun of the same price every day of the week. If your after no recoil acuracy you want a precharged pnumatic NOT a co2 charged gun. Also co2 guns cost an arm and a leg to run.

Well in the end i sold the car in bits to a guy. he got it back on the road then it blew up again lol
