  1. very clever how they do it... but its a bit of a monkey-mod
  2. naturally youve got top of the range exhaust system and dual intakes... deffo need more than 555s to flow the jungle juice for that lot!
  3. its 'gain' that decides how quickly the boost builds up and is usually the one responsible for boost spikes. unfortunately i dont have the profec, i have a blitz but im sure the idea is the same. how you would get a spike even with the gain turned right down is a mystery - the controller is plumbed in properly i guess?! :smw:
  4. "You will not see another like this" youre f***ing right there mate :hyper:
  5. the imitation one has grey digits when switched off while the genuine is dark red. also the imitation shows the wrong A/F reading. and honestly ive not just read the link :D
  6. ive been trying to find some software that'll monitor my monthly internet usage but the only decent ones i can find reset every time i switch my pc off :headvswal 1gb isnt all that much - but it depends how much you use the net, and what you use it for. just posting on here will be a few megs, but downloading movie clips and music will bump it up into the 100's of megs quite easily.
  7. its designed for "public protection" :xxx: in movies, all the corrupt government officials say that. oh and i hope no crims read this post but, perhaps changing your number plates periodically would f**k everything up. another £24m down the drain. :xxx:
  8. one of the later models didn't have a boost gauge, although i cant remember which year. yours is a '92, but if i remember correctly it was the '94 that didnt have the gauge (open to corrections guys). as craig david says, best way to find out is pop the hood and see how many pipes you have. the front bumper will tell you which model it is - TT's have vents in the front corners where the intercoolers are, NA's just have a plain bumper without vents. TTs are definately more popular (there's a recent poll knocking around somewhere), mainly due to power and partly because there were more of them made. Having said that the NA owners on here seem quite happy with their machines, especially the lower maintenance :headvswal
  9. welcome to the club mate. there's a chap hoering around on ebay that flogs the rear badges. ive purchased from him twice and can vouch for him, even if he posts from america. um, standard unleaded is ok, as long as you dont start messing about with boost etc. use optimax when youre ready to up the bhp ;) and the boot problem - very common im afraid. i had a full colour change a couple of months ago and my boot is already starting to bubble again. you can go for an aftermarket spoiler or replace with another lip spoiler made from better stuff. take a look at the ZCentre for different bodykits (member on here) good luck
  10. if you read one of the questions at the bottom of the page (if you ever get there with all those photos!) someone mentions a scam where someone used his photos to flog a non-existant car, or something.
  11. I was on my way to a work's nosh-up last night at about 8pm. pulled onto a dual carriageway from a roundabout and gradually accellerated in the outside lane past another car when i see a flash from the other side of the road. look up and see a yellow mobile CCTV van parked up, side-on to me. think "sht" to myself and check my speed - was no more than 44 in a 40. the area around us was very dark as the streetlights are quite spread out (for the leicester posse this is from the "Grange" roundabout in Oadby on the way to Great Glen. thinking about it: a) the flash wasn't a gatso-sort of flash, like a floodlight, it was more like a polaroid flash going off. and b) the van was side-on to me, not rear-end-on where the bleeders like to watch you. my worry (and question) is: have i been snapped or had they pulled up for a donut and coffee and the flash was something else?
  12. cant wait to see the feature. let's hope they dont quote the 0-60 as 7.4 seconds like lax power did :xxx:
