  1. ok upon doing some recovery, these missing pictures are all intact (bar the odd one or two, probably due to the tracks being over-written), but they were marked as DELETED. sounds like someone's used 'search' to find all JPEGs, then deleted them all. that would explain why the directory structure is still intact. however it wouldnt explain why the system just keeps rebooting.... unless some important system files were deleted too...
  2. thats just scaaary. couldnt be arsed to read it properly but has any of them actually written an interpreter for it?
  3. my mate's work PC has crashed. runs XP, boots to the 'safety menu' but no matter which option you choose it just reboots and goes back to the menu. apparently the boss was accidentally leaning on the shift key for a good few minutes while chatting to someone. it came up with the 'sticky keys' box and then locked up. he rebooted it, and then the problem started. he had been browsing a 'safe' web site just prior to this too. ive taken the HDD out and put it in another machine as a secondary and browsed the drive. partitioned in two. there's no obvious corruption - ive seen a corrupted HDD before and unfortunately it was mine. HOWEVER in the 'My Documents' folder of his D: drive, the directory structure is intact (ie different folders for his holiday snaps/family/etc), but all files are missing!?! other directories and the root directory seem ok. ive done a scan with NAV2007 and no viruses on either partition. on his drive C:, the Windows directory seems intact  the only out of place thing i can see is that in the root directory of C: there is: a directory called $WIN_NT$.~BT and a file called $LDR$ which both seem to be something to do with recovery. what the hell happened to his files then? it sounds like something malicious happened that all his images are gone, yet the directory structure to them is intact. its not as if someone or a program has deleted the whole directory, but gone into each one of fifty folders and cleared them out individually. or a HDD failure only affecting the My Documents area of the drive. im going to try some file recovery software to see if theyre still on the drive somewhere, and then i'll do a scandisk. straange and bizaaare
  4. are my eyes deceiving me? name the red car in the picture...

  10. Jackie said: “We got caught one night by military police having sex on my Nissan ZX’s bonnet at my base.” Jackie is the fella remember...

  12. i agree with Graham. I like that car but it just isnt a Skyline.
  13. our record is still in place for the most jap cars on track. and thank fook we didnt have to pay £10k
  14. congratulations to the three of you :duffer:
  15. its a shame fleabay changed it so you cant contact bidders any more. i remember we saved some poor girl from buying that yellow 3.5 second Z last year. thankfully she hadn't met the reserve.
  16. blow off valves and dump valves are the same thing. you need to remove and cap off the stock recircs (located at the bottom corners behind your rad fan). aftermarket BOVs either replace the recircs, or go on the boost pipes in the engine bay (as pic in Athene's link above)
  17. lol its like Street Hawk with a cloaking device :p
  18. happy birthday Chris :duffer:
  19. then ive no idea what it is, but it looks like Scarab corners with a Wings West centre. bit of a cut 'n' shut job. looks good though.
  20. ok lets narrow the problem down - take one MP3 file. there's no info in its 'summary' page from explorer. load up WMP and create a blank playlist. drag this MP3 into the playlist to add it, and then suddenly its got data, WMP seems to have made up some data from the filename, or made it up by itself  how do i stop WMP adding its own ID3 information? [there is an option that says auto-update from t'internet, but you guessed it, it's turned off :headvswal ]
  21. well youre not at the top of the list but you are on it somewhere ;) just make sure you get your back end sorted first
  22. the Scarab has a wider and more curved 'mouth' is Speedfreak's not a Wings West?
  23. Happy Birthday Faisal :duffer:
