Boost Problems??
Just a quick question to boost jets... I drove a 300zx with boost jets and was told that you also get "goosing" as the wastegate is fooled by the boost. Is this right? Not that I don't believe him.., Just putting my mind at rest... Also 2 other questions. 1. How much would a hydralic tappet cost to fix. 2. I've been told that getting a bolster recovered can cost approx. £40. Does that sound right and does anyone know where I can get it done locally... I live in Stafford...

Insurance - isn't it always...
Too right Paul... I think due to the large miles only being done on a motorway and it won't involve caining it :) that I should be okay.... I also think that as long as I stick to the 6 month service (oil change etc...) that all should be fine. See every 6 months Jeff!!!! Ben....

Insurance - isn't it always...
Thanks for the info... Simmo, does that mean I should not think about a performance car to do any sort of mileage in...? Looking at the forum sort of put my mind at ease on mileage on a Z... These are study cars and an easy motorway muncher... (no jokes of munching anything else please.. :) ) If anyone dis-agrees join the debate. Just don't tell me to by a boring old hatchback that's a 50mpg diesel... I want to enjoy driving and not pay through the nose for the pleasure. Servicing costs a side, including tyres and the usual wear and tear, a Z seems like a win-win proposal... Tell me i'm wrong... Speak soon Ben

Insurance - isn't it always...
Cheers Paul. I calculated in my head the approx. mileage I thought id do and toted up just short of 20,000 miles... Don't want to do that much if poss. might try to use my wifes car as often as poss. Suppose i'll have to bite the bullet and ring around the companies in the back of the usual magazines. Bit disappointed by my current insurers as they have always been competitive, but this year can't even get close to the elephant.co.uk price of approx. £829 (£150 excess). Im 25 (4 years NCB) and my wife is 29. Anymore tales of insurance quotes welcome. Ben

Insurance - isn't it always...
I take it everyone uses their Z's as second cars then... I can get insurance but to use everyday is going to cost me!!! I don't really want to have 2 cars just for me... I need 2 normally. One for the family (an estate that my wife uses) one for me... Biggest problem is going to by the mileage I going to be doing. I really like the thought of have a powerful car that I can enjoy the driving, but I don't want to be kicked in the b*lls for doing it... Tell me your thoughts guys... Ben. P.S. Sorry I replied to an items for sale topic and thought it better to re-do it here... :)

Red ZX in Stafford?
Hi Guys... Saw an imaculate red zx 'L' plate in Stafford the other day. It had a red carpet re-trim round the bottom of the dash and transmission tunnel. It also had 2? gauges in door pods? Was it anyone from the forum? Cheers Ben
