  1. Further to the other thread(s) on how to repair your peeled dash... yesterday I noticed that due to the heat the dash was pretty flexible. I was worried it would peel of even more!! So I wedged a blanket between the screen and the peeled up section to hold it down. In the evening it stayed down :) Probably won't last long without appling glue (as mentioned in the other thread) but I reckon with this heat, now is the time to do it as the dash will press down nice and easy when hot.
  2. I left mine off. Haven't noticed any ill effects yet, though my car has always made all sorts of creaks and squeaks...

Sure you haven't switched your fog lights on? I had an import before and they had installed the fogs in with the rear lights. One day I had a play with some 'weird' looking switch - 'I wonder what this is for...'. Couple of days later my neighbour says I've left my lights on. Couldn't figure it until I remembered I had played with that switch. Maybe not, but hope it is something simple like that mate, Good luck!
  4. Sounds good. Cheers guys,
  5. I got my KYB AGX shocks in the end, but they didn't come with any boots (rubber gaitors that go over the shock). Will the standard ones fit ok? Been ringing around all sorts of parts places to try and source these (my current ones are knackered). I would of thought that you'd be able to get ones that fit no probs. But no luck so far. So what's everyone else done? I know a lot have these shocks. Cheers
  6. Modifying the back plate would be easier eh? In fact, what does that plate do anyway? Pull it off and chuck it in the bin :D
  7. If it don't fit - just bash it till it does :smash: :smash: :smash: I have fitted these too (a while ago now though) but I do seem to remember something rubbing on mine as well - not sure if the same place though. But just bent the back plate with a bar till it was ok. Can't see there being a problem with bending that plate - unless anyone knows better??
  8. Cheers for that Eric. I reckon I'll just cut 'em off! Thanks,
  9. Just about to replace my rear shocks with KYB AGX ones. Mine's a UK car though so it has those actuators attached to the current rear shocks to stiffen them when you pull up the handbrake. Now I've already removed all the trim so I can get on and replace the shocks at the weekend, but what do I do with these actuator units? Can I just cut the wires and bin them? Currently I hear them 'click' every time I park and pull on the handbrake (I have taken them off of the top of the shocks). Cheers,
  10. Well, as I was just starting to get worried I get a letter last night saying that ParcelForce are holding my package :D Only have to pay £15 in total charges too - wooohooo! So looks like it probably was stuck in Customs most of that time  If it's any help to anyone in the future the number to ring customs on is 02476 212 860, they should be able to tell you if they have the package or not (although they have been busy the last couple of days and I couldn't get through, ah well). Thanks for your help chaps.
  11. Still £25 delivered yeah?
  12. I just asked them for a delivery quote. Didn't specify urgent or anything, and they never gave me any options. I guess they were just trying to give me the best deal - fair enough really. Ah well. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. Cheers.
  13. Cheers Baz. What courier did they use?
  14. Yeah, I know I know. They were a bit cheaper and I wasn't in a rush (at the time). But looks like I'll probably end up paying a ton of customs charges anyway now  , and have had to wait for months...if they ever turn up and I don't lose all my money that is. If I could turn back time...da da da da... Baz: Did the couriers/customs contact you before hand then - so you had to pay before they delivered? Or did they just turn up with the stuff and you had to pay on the door?
  15. Is a parcel number different from a tracking number? If I can get a parcel number, can I check with Customs directly? Or is this something you can only check with the courier? Yeah, they seem helpful enough - just worried someone else is riding around on my new shocks :p
  16. Has anyone ordered stuff from this lot? http://www.conceptzperformance.com/ I ordered some shocks and springs 9 weeks ago now and still haven't received anything  Is this normal for stuff from the states? I've been in contact with Coz there, and he's been helpful enough, but just keeps telling me that they're probably in Customs, although he has no tracking number for the shipment! :headvswal Is there any way I can find out if Customs are holding my package? Has anyone had to wait this long before for parts from the states? (I know, I know - I should of ordered from the UK - will next time :) ) Cheers.
  17. It may just be gunk in the starter motor. Could be the gear is not flying out straight away, hence it is spinning by the time it tries to connect to the flywheel(?) And makes that noise. Anyway, before you splash out for a new or second hand one, take it off, give it all a good clean up. I used lots of WD40 and an air line on mine (but I think someone said WD40 is not good). But it did the job on mine and I haven't had any probs since.
  18. After plastering the turbo outlet gasket with gun-gum, no change - still sounds like a tractor. Turns out it's the fooker in the picture. Which looks even harder to replace  Patched it with more gun-gum (I love that stuff) but anyone replaced this gasket? How hard is it to do - looks to me like the two bolts nearest the block are impossible to get at!
  19. I did a drift course the other month. We used a 200sx and some MX5s. And believe it or not at the end of the day everyone preferred the MX5!!! Still, no one wants to be seen in a hair-dressers car do they :D
  20. Occasionally, although been waiting for new shocks and springs to turn up so not recently. When they do I'll be popping along to the next driftUK practise session. I got a set of 200sx wheels for the rears, so cheaper tyres and easier to get them spinning.
  21. Mmmm. Maybe a bit of exhaust bandage and gun gum for the short term is in order :smash:
  22. Thanks for that. I was wondering if it could damage to the turbo. Maybe because of the lower pressure (like when you decat) due to the leak? It's my only car though so I am still driving it (although very gently). Pretty sure that mine is leaking from the same place. So hopefully it'll hold together till the weekend. Oh yeah - and not too big a job?? Don't have to remove the engine or anything :)
  23. What was the outcome of this then? Easy fix? Think I have a simiar problem - passenger side, defo blowing somewhere around the turbo but can't see exactly where, just get the tractor sound and some exhaust smell when I rev it. Anyone know any good ways to spot these sort of leaks? Redex in the intakes for lots of smoke maybe?
  24. Well you lot have convinced me - I just bought them :mac1:
