Based on the figures you have both the formula using the 0.6818 and the long way round you did it both give 23.8 MPH..

If you went past 8 marks between photo 1 and photo 2 and the time difference between photos was say 0.5 seconds and the distance between marks was 5 Ft then you would have been doing 54.54MPH [8(Marks) * 5(feet between marks) * 0.6818 (Miles-Ft conversion)]/0.5 (time) = 54.54

The car had a recon engine fitted only a few thousand miles ago so I'm pretty happy on that front, the det sensor is duff though so I'm planning on nipping up to see Andy to get that sorted. Brake upgrade sounds like a good idea, I'll do a bit of research on that one, cheers

Having got my new zed tucked up in its lovely new garage, I've got some cash available to begin some modifications. Need some help in spending my cash. I've got 5 - 6k to blow on the car. was thinking of : Same colour respray (£2000 ???) 99 Spec bumper (420) leather retrim (1000) carputer (600) New suspension Anyone else think of any better things to spend the cash on (prefferably on the car, my car... :rofl: ) not to fussed about increasing the performance too much it's plenty quick for me at the moment. If I don't spend the cash soon it'll end up turning into a conservatory :eek:

certainly a good idea to do the det sensor.

My Cars got one of these API engines and it states all over there website and in all the documentation that the high spec engines come without all the ancillaries ect. It does state that the engine is fully prepared to recieve them all though. Make sure you get them to stamp up the API warranty booklet after they have fitted the engine so your API warranty stays intact.

I want to order a stack of parts from one of the US suppliers. Does anybody know what I would have to pay in various duties when it all arrives? Is there a simple % of the total cost I need to pay?, and do you pay the shipping company the duties or do you pay someone else.

Just wanted to say a quick hello, been a forum member for a while but never had a zed, Today I've struck a deal with TonyC and bought his stunning SWB TT. Looking forward to some tinkering and a reduction in my spare cash.. :)

Didn't want to come across as if I was worried about being mislead by the seller. I just appreciate that the zed is a hell of a complex car and at the end of the day nothing is certain. Have emailed matt so hopefully he's around at the weekend for me to see the car.

Finally decided to step up my search for a zed, I’m smitten by Matts (Sgt C) SWB manual. Now at 10k its above my budget but I could stretch a bit. Question I suppose is if anything where to go massively wrong engine/gearbox ect I’d be struggling to get it fixed, what are the likely costs of engine / turbo rebuilds ect. Given that buying Matts car would wipe me out financially for a while am I being daft. i.e. should I be buying a cheaper car so I have some repair funds available just incase.

Any work need doing on it? , where's it been serviced ect? I am a serious buyer with the cash ready and thanks to houghton can afford the insurance ( £276 fully comp, second car, bargin)

As far as Mods are concerned I rather go for a standard-ish car and then pick my own mods as time and money permit. So I have 6.5k to spend, so If I start looking for cars around the 4-5k mark that will leave me some cash to get the car upto scratch.....A helping hand when looking would be really good, so if there are any kind people out there around northants please let me know. I don't want to go looking at a car blind. Cheers
