  1. @ Tudor & Paulbrem, hardly ever see a Z round here I cant think the last time I seen one. I live in Salford now ive just not updated my profile but still close, If you have seen a black supra with black & chrome deepdish wheels then its most likely me (had to take the car off road as i recently got made unemployed). @Sussex Stu, Thats a comforting post you made, I cant believe someone sold a TT manual for £1500, you got a great deal by the looks of it. I will look into what to look for when buying one closer to the time if I end up getting one. They're alot of car for the money but I suppose they lose their value not only to age but because its hard to afford one now with todays running costs. I did have a question to Quavey or if someone else knows, He posted a link with differences between UK/JDM/USA models and It didnt list mechanical part differences i.e. Turbos & brakes. With the Supra some differences between UK & import are, UK has better brakes, better (glass) headlights, softer suspension, stronger yet I believe not powerfull turbos, things like that, is the 300zx the same?
  2. Ive seen some stunning examples then looked inside to see or horrid grey stitched type interior. I dont want that, I would prefer leather or a dark cloth. Do UK ones come with leather?
  3. I think I may have tried them but I believe I was not allowed to use the car as a daily driver. I will need to be able to drive it as a daily driver.
  4. On the mkivsupra club ive been getting help from people with insurance, ive tried loads of companys where people get cheap quotes but with me it comes up with either they wont insure me or its over 7k. I have a friend in wales with the same supra as mine, his driving background is the same as mine (he only has 3 points like me) and he pays £600 fully comp. They always say its the area I live being a high crime zone ect ect. Im gutted I have to sell my supra but im refusing to pay over 2k for this car, when I was 21 I owned a Pulsar GTiR with only paying £1800 a year. Back to the Z's, My insurance on a N/A import is over 2k whereas a UK TT manual (Thats the one I want) is £1200. Its the same with supra's, my N/A is now over 2k, If I got a UK tt its would be £800 to insure.
  5. Ok big help, Im gonna have a look at that link now. Im planning on selling my supra abit cheaper so I get a quicker sale and my total budget would be around 4k. Im not after a Mint one, Just a good example with lowish miles. With supras the UK models tend to be high milage and more likely to have rust compared the Imports (and more rare too) im guessing its kinda the same with Z's. Gonna have a read through that link now anyway.
  6. I currently own a mk4 supra N/A and my insurance is killing me on anything that is an import (I prefer import over UK models though), My insurance was £1000 when I first bought the supra (I was 23) im now 26 and they want more than 2 grand off me. Most companys want over 7k or wont insure me because of the area I live. Basically Im looking at a UK model car next and the Z is one car I need to own at some point in my life. Again I would normally go for the import version but its not an option now. I have three questions...... 1, Which year is the best model to buy? I would prefer atleast 94 model. 2, Could someone either tell me or show me a link to where it list the differences between the UK and import model? I want to know if the UK model is not as good? 3, How likely and how much would it cost to get a UK, 94+, TT, manual, LWB model for with less than 100k miles and in good condition? Ive been looking on pistonheads but not seen on that would do for me, I dont want the SWB version.
  7. Sorry to hear about your car and it looks nice too, Atleast you can fix it. You dont seem to upset about it glad you ok.
  8. Good comparison pal plus the targa tops could get rid of the smell quicker incase of emergency.
  9. Bet you can read everything on that page in under 10 minutes.
  10. Great in a straight line if you can stop the wheel spin, Ive heard of a few people who have converted corsa's to 4x4 and evan a rwd nova looks like fun, The F28 boxes are the best for the turbo engine so much difference between the 6speed and 5speed. @chrisP Sorry about my spelling if a few words are wrong i dont usually have the time to check what i have wrote, would this suite you more pal http://pic3.piczo.com/xmilibeybix/?g=25279596
  11. Wow what an essay i wrote, i like the s13's aswell as the s14's they are meant to be a good drifters choice but me and drift dont go together so i would just have to cruise round the corners. If i dont end up getting a 300zx only reason being it not fitting in my back driveway i would end up getting an s13 proberly.
  12. You put a redtop in a nova the handling goes baggy, i know proberly about 10 people that have redtops in novas and corsa's and they couldnt catch me around rivington (bolton country lanes) when i had my astra mk3. One of my mates put a cali turbo engine in a corsa c and that would wheel spin in any gear, it was quite funny watching him on the motorway because it was straight to redline when he put his foot down. He wouldnt dare go fast round country roads as the thing would just come of the road and he had a good suspension setup. MK3 astras weight 900somthing kg and novas are 800odd kg, I know someone who works at a scrappers and he lets us weigh are cars when ever we want so that proves novas arnt much lighter than the mk3 astras. I was a long member on migweb for over 4 years and when asking on there at the time weather anyone had done that kind of engine conversion no one had done it, so i thought about doing something different rather than the easy redtop solution that everyone with, anyways i reckon if you was in that car with me you would agree that it is somthing special, I just remembered when my neighbour had a celica gt-four he couldnt get round the roundabout as quick as i could. The main thing is the car could out handle most things i came across it was also the sleeper look so people didnt expect it.
  13. I wanted to get the best out of handling, them redtop engines arnt to good if you want to perfect handling so i went for a light GTE engine and started to tuning, The best thing was it hadnt been done before (i was a member on migweb.co.uk for 4 years amd hadnt seen it done). I got a good suspension setup and 2ltr brakes, Not once did i come close to loosing traction and i did give it as much as i could on the bends. It would beat any lightly modded calibra redtop (non turbo), and mk4 golf gti's for a 1.6 8v that is good going. Oh i got the engine from a friend who bought a nova with 30k miles of a 70 year old dear who had the car from new so the engine was absolutely mint.
  14. Strange how they make some big cars have little room, i was shocked with the 5 series how close the dash is i wouldnt like to be to tall driving one of them.
  15. Yeh i would have thought so, i wouldnt like to be smaller than 5foot 8 driving my merc bricks on the pedals would be needed haha
  16. Ok to look at them they look like you gotta be a big guy to drive one, i mean for instance i have drove a few BMW 5 series which is a big car but i reckon a 5 foot person could drive it as everything is quite close type of thing, im 5 foot 10 myself, Like in my merc i have the seat almost as close as it will go just to reach the pedals properly.
  17. I dont evan own a Zed but i gotta laugh at that 106, My friend used to have a 106 1.1 when i had an astra 1.4 he used to take the pi55 out of me in a race untill i put a highly tuned nova GTE engine into my astra then 106gti's were my kinda race after that. Cant really compent because my whole family hate anything french but i hope it gets you through winter pal.

Its a TT mate, i was looking at that myself and tried an insurance quote with using that numberplate
  20. I tried a 3 point turn at my house and suddenly appeared upside down
  21. Opps the pic might come in handy http://img264.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cimg0839xq7.jpg
  22. Heres the best pic i have at the moment, I usually revearse in the the driveway on the right. it can take 3 turns to get somtimes but othertimes i can get it in in 1, the bricks have all gone too. what do you guys reckon.
  23. I was reading up on these compared with supras, it said the zx has alot more of a turning circle than supras, i assumed with my merc being alot bigger than my GTIR and having miles better turning circle that it could be true about a big bulky Zed being good. Hmm this might be abit tricky then theres not that much space to revearse in, if only some had one to try on my street
