Hi everyone, I've hit a bit of a wall with my 300 and it's auto box. It won't shift up into 3rd when driving, 1st/2nd/reverse all work fine. I've had it a gearbox repair place and they couldn't do anything with it as non of their plug in machines could read it and the same with an auto electrician that I took it to, however the gearbox place said that it needed about 3 litres of fluid to get it up to the correct level. They did say that when they took it out all the gears that worked were now shifting nicely but it wasn't even trying to shift up to 3rd and they suspected more electrical than mechanical but obviously not 100%. I'm sure someone here might be able to assist in getting me to a garage that know what they are doing with regards to this specific car because I'm ringing round but not finding anyone who even wants to have a look at it in the North East of England. Does anyone have any suggestions where/who would be the best to help? Thanks in advance Dan

Alright guys, been letting my car sit for far too long and it's time to get it looked at so I know where to start with it. It's been languishing for around a decade now and I've finally go round to putting a few quid to one side, but now I'm struggling to find a specialist garage anywhere near me. I've seen the posts about LA Autos and Powerzed, but they are a substantial distance from me (County Durham) and since we are still kind of locked down I'd ideally like to take it somewhere more local. Does anyone know of a garage up in the Durham/Newcastle area at all? Cheers Dan

no, the shifter just slides between the gears without making any noises or gripping like normal and it gave no hint of failure, was fine one minute, then nothing the next

Hi there, just wondering if anyone can offer up any advice before i get my car looked at tomorrow. I have a jap spec auto tt. I was joining a juction at 40mph and when i accelerated to merge, my engine revved higher and higher as my speed dropped, i then coasted to a stop at the side of the road. Once i was stationary i tried selecting each of the gears individually, inc reverse, and nothing, none of the usual pulls when a gear is selected, the engine just revs. One thing i will mention incase it is relevant is that my car has always had a dodgy speedo, which drops to zero whenever it feels like it, at which point the power steering no longer works. It comes back on once i get down to about 20mph, and steering returns. As far as i know i have the oem jap clocks with a speedo convertor cable to convert from kmph. Other than that, ive had no problems, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi can anyone tell me if there are any places in the uk that i can buy a vented GRP/Fibreglass bonnet from. Im not struck on the look of carbon fibre, so i was wanting one i can paint to match my car. Any Links would be good, Cheers
