Speedo malfunctioning
Hi Adam, Sorry that you're having trouble with the speedo. I had trouble with it a few months before you bought it, but I managed to fix it (or so I thought...) by resoldering all the joints on the back of it. It did work fine again after that! But that's gutting if it's gone again, I'm really sorry! Anyway, I'm pretty sure, based on that experience, that it's the speedo itself at fault, as opposed to the gearbox sender. Maybe my resoldering of the bad joint (none of them were visibly bad) was a bad resoldering... Maybe worth trying it again... if you had the time... Phill

1993 UK 300zx TT Manual 2+2 Black 133k
The time has come, unfortunately, to say goodbye to my precious Zed :( (can't fit three children in the back...) £3475 or near offer Excellent condition for age. Rare unmolested example, with subtle 'OEMesk' mods (Genuine Nissan '99 spec' front bumper and rear lights, replica '99 spec' rear spoiler, polished OEM alloy wheels, Mongoose quad exit cat back exhaust - OEM look, but stainless and produces a nice deep purr - not too loud, HID headlights, with colour matching LED side lights, 'de-oranged' indicator lenses). Black 'tweed' interior (much nicer than the grey 'tweed') in excellent condition. Removable 'Targa' roof panels, complete with original blinds and storage bags. Original 3 keys (titanium - main, black - spare, red - valet). Removable tow bar fitted (only ever been used to tow a very small trailer). Non-smoking owner. MOTed till Sept'17. Full service history covering the 8 1/2 years I have owned the car, partial history prior to that. The car was written off in 2011 (category D) due to damage caused by both a front and rear shunt (incredibly frustrating ordeal as the repair quote was within the valuation of the car, but the repair had to be less than 3/4 of the value of the car for the insurers to not write it off). The car was bought back from the insurers, the damage all fully repaired by Zedworld and the car put back on the road. Some signs of rust starting to show on the sills and a few spots of very minor surface rust showing elsewhere. Cam belt was changed when I bought the car, at 101,000 miles (8 1/2 years ago), so arguably is now due another change due to the time factor.

Honest opinions
The time has come, unfortunately, to say goodbye to my precious Zed :( (can't fit three children in the back...) Not having been on here for a few years now, I'm rather out of touch with the current Zed market prices and wonder what people's honest opinions are on how much I should be asking? Realise you can't say much without seeing it in the flesh, but any guidance would be appreciated. The car is a 1993 UK LWB Manual Twin Turbo. Notable features: genuine '99 spec' front bumper and rear lights, fibreglass replica '99 spec' rear spoiler, polished OEM wheels, Mongoose quad exit cat back exhaust, black 'tweed' interior in excellent condition, original blinds and storage bags for the targas, original 3 keys (titanium, black and red), removable tow bar (be that positive or negative! - only ever been used to tow very small trailers). MOTed till Sept'17. Full service history covering the 8 1/2 years I have owned the car, partial history prior to that. Issues: The car was written off in 2011 (category D) due to damage caused by both a front and rear shunt (incredibly frustrating ordeal as the repair quote was within the valuation of the car, but the repair had to be less than 3/4 of the value of the car for the insurers to not write it off). Sump plug washer size
Is anyone able to tell me the dimensions of the copper washer for the dump plug, please? I don't know what to order until I take the sump plug out, but it'll be a bit late then... Many thanks, Phill

Replacement rear windscreen
Thanks guys Apparently Nissan themselves can't supply, according to Auto Glass. I may call them myself just to be sure though. Contacted ConceptZ... $800 shipping...

Replacement rear windscreen
Anyone know where I could get a replacement UK rear windscreen from? Auto Glass (who my insurance use) say they can't get one. Thanks, Phill

Where's the best place to buy a battery?
Thanks for all your replies - very helpful :)

Where's the best place to buy a battery?
Bought my last one from Halfords - the one their book suggested had the terminals the wrong way round, so I ended up buying one that was slightly too small instead (but with the terminals the correct way round). But that one appears to have died now so I need another and it would be nice to get the correct one this time - where do people get them for their Zeds?

I'll show you mine, you show me yours!!
Just took a few snaps on my phone (so not great quality) parked out side 'the house'...

Fitting a towbar to a Zed...
I'm not going to do it unless it's removable, that would be wrong! But it would allow me to take the Zed on holiday when otherwise I'd have to use a boring car just so I can fit everything in... Thanks for the link Rolandas :)

Fitting a towbar to a Zed...
Anyone know of a company that can do a removable towbar, so that I could tow a small trailer to go on holiday etc, but then not have the thing spoiling the look of the car for normal use? There's a company near me that have quoted just for a normal towbar, but they can't do a removable one, but there was a chap on here that had one (Chris C I think, don't know if he's still about) so I know they exist (or at least have done). Thanks, Phill

St Asaph car show 15/04/12
Really sorry guys but it's looking doubtful that I'm going to be able to make it tomorrow :(. I had planned to spend most of today cleaning and polishing the car, but have ended up spending the day in bed ill. So it's currently still caked in mud. Best I can hope for now is that I feel remarkably better come the morning, give the car a rather unsatisfactorily quick clean and come over late, but will have to see what I'm up for in the morning. I'm gutted I've not been able to do the thing properly :( What's the deal with admission fees? Will the emply space meant for me cost any money? Phill
