- Is the UK healthy to raise children in?
I don't think the world as it is now is a good place to bring children into, let alone the UK.- Renewed subs

It can do. I have seen it happen. A lot of guys who join the Army have nothing else going for them. They aren't employable, rough upbringing. The join because they have nothing else. I'm not saying eveyone who joins is like that but there are some. I have met a broad range of peeps in the Army and there are quite a few nutbars in there. Bullying is also rife, although the Army will not tolerate it or so they say. It happens all the time, everyday of the week. There was one guy I knew, who was only a lance corporal and he used to send the new boys on naffi runs etc .. He used to time them on his watch. If they were late, then he would literally punch them out, or hang them outside the window in a doss bag. He was even known to shoot crossbow bolts at them. Obviously this is a bit of an extreme example but it happens.- pro's and con of joining the army
Believe it or not this is quite true. The Army will change you mentally, it will become your extended family and you will look on civilians totally different, It is hard to explain but everyone in my unit seemed to look on them as not the same as them as if they were better than them. They referred to them as civies and they treated them mostly with contempt. I'm not saying that I agree with this but that is how it was when I was in the forces. Attitudes may have changed since.- pro's and con of joining the army
Depending on what you do in the Army and there is a huuuuge difference between lets say an infantry soldier and someone who works in admin. It depends really what you want to do within the Army structure. Pros 1. You will make great friends for life 2. You will be very fit 3. It will make you a stronger person mentally and physically 4. You can save a bit of money 5. Pay goes up well when you climb the ranks 6. It will build up your confidence and self respect 7. The food is good and you can eat as much as you want as long as you don't become a fat boy. 8. Plenty of leave 9. lots of women - you can even get laid whilst on guard duty in most barracks 10. Weapons - (what more do I have to say ;-) Cons 1. depending which unit you join - good chance of being maimed or killed 2. you will change your mind on how you think about civillians 3. if you dont like fighting and whoring on a night out (mostly weekends) this could be a downer 4. If you don't go out and join in you will not have many friends and your life will be a bit shit 5. If you are private and you wind up with a section commander who is nuts be very carefull. 6. bullying .. lots of bullying especially when you are new .. the others will call you a nig or words to that effect. Loads of nafi runs to get food or mac donalds runs 7. Never be a dirty person, or the guys wearing respirators and carrying a yardbroom will get you. 8. Be good at what you do and you will be fine, you will earn others respect. Can't really think of anything else at the moment. I loved my time in the Army :-)- 'Babe on board' stickers

PMSL- any plasterers or drylining guys
You wont have any problems with this method my friend. Tried and tested .. I do prefer to use older methods when appropriate but in this case it is easier to do it this way, and even a semi decent plasterer / novice would be able to skim this to a reasonable standard. Cheers Chris- any plasterers or drylining guys
This is how I would do this as i have done it before with no problems. First thing to do would be to tap some partition timber into the joints of the RSJ. You can then either cut three lengths of plasterboard or do it in one. Measure the exact width of all sides; lefthand side, soffit (underside) and righhand side. Mark out the plasterboard where the bottom of the lefthand side starts and then across to the bottom of the righthand side, now score with the knife these two lines and break the cuts, you will now have three pieces of plasterboard still attached with the paper. Apply bonding compound to the underside of the beam and then offer the lefthand side up, screw this side to the noggins that you tapped in earlier, wrap the board under the soffit, tapping it on to make sure that it is firm and then fold the righthand side up and screw that to the noggins. You will now have a single board fastened to the RSJ. Once dotted and screwed to the noggins fill the external angles with a bit of adhesive too. Fix beads using either staple gun or screws. HTH- FFS NIP today
Hi, I received an NIP today which is all above board (well the details are correct anyway) I was caught by one of the static vans doing 58 in a 50 limit. I don't deny that allowing for the ACPO guidelines of 10% + 2mph I was 1 mile an hour over these but FFS ... :headvswal Is it worth me just filling in a pace document and going to court after asking for evidence of calibration etc .. or do I just bite the bullet and get the points? Anybody got any advice? I won't lie and tell them I wasn't driving or don't know who was as I was driving. ****ing scamera partnerships!- Insurance - please read!
I had an agreed value with Haughtons Insurance and mine was a jap import. Maybe worth a call .. dont have their number to hand at the moment though. Mine had a lot of mods as well, all of them declared ;)- Too much oil!
Around 140 - 150 I think.- Computer problem: need help for a friend
There could be lots of things that cause this. He could try clearing and resetting the BIOS back to safe defaults. If he added different memory this could cause the problem as it could corrup the boot.ini file. Check the memory is ok- download a memory test that boots of a floppy disk Check the video card as well as this could cause problems. If he has the windows CD then boot this cd and run R for repair and run chkdsk /R at the prompt. Not much help .. but that is where I would start.- Any science fiction fans here?
I would be happy to help ... Have PM'd you ..- Signatures
