Hello Saffy, I did not deal with you personally today but I have had a look in the diary and you are booked in for thursday week, that is not this Thursday but the next one (21st Oct ) Oddly been dealing ( on the phone) with another broken zed thats at your mates garage mentioned in your other post (car clinic) getting a bit confusing to be sure, thought for a moment it maybe the same zed! Hi Ian, Have Pmed you now, is the water leak when the engine is running or after it is turned off after a run? water pumps tend to leak after a run, the small rubber hoses above leak when the engine is runing. If it is the water pipes its a whole less of a job to put right, the water drips down and makes it difficult to see which it is. Jeff

Take your point, this is exactly the issue we have with phone call tech help anyhows you guys are too clever so have to hold a bit back :D the point however I should have made clear is there is no actual genuine fault on the zed that can produce injector leaking error code, so its always a corruption error, so even if you had a leaking injector this code would not pop up, fault diagnosis can be very tricky. 2k mark well I seriously did not notice!! second time around......probably:rolleyes: Jeff TT

  6. Effectively yes, there was a degree of overlap caused by the bad cambelt timing, but also there was a faulty earth return on the afm plug causing a corrrupted signal to enter the ecu, this in turn was keeping the injectors firing non sequentially, a simple repair. Jeff TT

  8. Agree, loose intercooler pipes are a common cause of sudden boost loss too. Jeff TT
  9. Ok the idle runing issues were mostly caused by a typical air leak ( split pipes) but the turbo lag was also due to a badly timed cambelt which is a clue to the code. Jeff
  10. Well O2 sensors can cause all sorts of running issues but alone cannot trigger this code. Jeff

Any sensor input that can cause "RICH" fuel signl can cause an INJECTOR code Any cause of excessive fuel pressure can cause an injector code This is why the ConZult system or any diagnostic system is only as good as the way it is read. Collecting more information from the ConZult its possible to more acurately pin point the causes of codes as often the code can be misleading or just the start of the diagnostic rather than the answer. The "ALPHA" reading of CONZULT indicates if the fuel mixture is rich, lean, or correct and in this case was abnormally low which indicates a richer than normal figure, but caution is required when reading Alpha output as "chipped" ecu`s often read lower than standard so they are safe when running extra boost. Given this the eprom mapping was read and showed it to be a modified ecu but not to point where the alpha output would be so low..... Jeff

  15. No injector connection or incorrect ones fitted problems, the engine was running a little off colour at idle, nothing major but some evidence of increased turbo lag though on the test drive. Jeff TT

  19. i need a drivers electric grey leather seat (whit ishh) the back rest aint moving back or forward The most common cause of the seat back not working is a failed switch, the motors are very robust and rarely fail. A new switch can be salavaged from an old seat and should cost you no more than £25 i need the trim bits that fit on the inside of the quater panel both sides the strip that sits under the front wiper Commonly required as the plastic goes brittle, again second hand expect to pay around £50 for the two parts. parcel shelf Easy one used again expect to pay around £35 the gear box is automatic on a twin turbo and when i drive it ... not until i get to 5000 rpm the gear dont change? Often engine set up can interfere with the correct gearbox operation, often a simple throttle position sensor set up will sort it out. As your in Birmingham there a few breakers that do Jap stuff, try around the Alum Rock area. You might find with a few of the problems sorted out you will come to love your zed. Jeff TT

As a precaution a compression test is a good idea because cold starting problems is often related to low compression, over fueling is less of a problem when the engine is cold, however poor cambelt timing can also cause starting issues which will be worse when the engine is cold so even if the figures are low the reason maybe cambelt timing rather than worn or damaged pistons / rings /bores. Aha! that maybe the clue we needed, there is a seperate connector that plugs all of those lights in, take the top of the dash binical off ( two x screws) and look at the left hand side, should be a medium size white connector fixed to the dash cluster, check it is plugged in, I can post a photo tomorrow if you need it.   22. Well James they are the variable valve solenoids, they have a tar like substance that seals the end and this can some times melt out but rarely enough to drip to the floor. There are half moon seals around cam cover that is over them and that can be problemantic sometimes, they can be removed and resealed with silicon sealant with a bit of care, also the cam cover itself can leak, this requires a plenum removal to reseal.   23. No reason for the light to not come on except the bulb has gone? and that would be rare indeed, the light is controlled directly by the ecu so the only next check is the bulb. Jeff
