So you need a top end rebuild and i need a bottom end rebuild???!! :)

A rebuild would be your best bet but you may need to source another pair of heads due to valve and valve guide damage

Looks like your in the same boat as me at the moment :(

Sorry to say that 99% of times the Valves will be bent as soon as the belt snaps! These are very tight on valve to piston clearance :(

I am not impressed with the fact i have 2 conrods with loose nut and one thats came off completely??? Do these Zed engines have a bad reputation for Conrod nuts working loose??? :(

PIcs of engine Damage with number 6 conrod punched through side of Sump!! Also see if you notice the Loose conrod nut on one of the other Conrods??? This seems to have been the Reason why i lost number six :(

Anyone ever had this happen to them?? As i am dazzed about how this happened in the first place!! I only serviced my Zed on Friday and everything was ok!! I even added some Water Wetter!! After checking the engine today my cooling system only needed a pint to fill it back up but obviously i have no oil due to the 2 holes in the sump!!! but my Dipstick seems to be jammed in the engine as it will not come out!:(

Hi All! As some of you know in the South Central Region i could not make the meet at the weekend just gone due to having to be in Bromley, Kent for the whole Weekend! Well every thing was great as Usual on the Journey up! but on the way home last night this happened!! :( i was coming back from Kent on Sunday night and my oil pressure dropped to Zero while i was Driving at 120mph and the Engine started shuddering!! by the time i could safely pull over on the M3 the engine had made a Loud Bang and then sounds of bit's of Metal comming out from under the car then Totally Dead!! Engine Cut out before i could stop so i lost brakes as well..... Got out of Car!! loads of Oil and Water,Steam every where!! Huge Pool of Oil under the Car!! Tried to turn over engine!! it turned over but would not start! Looked under the Car and the whole of the Under side was covered in oil and there Are Two hole's in the Sump So i had to call out AA recovery and i i did not get home until 2am!! So iam am a Bit Pi**ed o*f right now as you could imagine..... I think the Oil pump packed up or an oil line to one of the Turbos burst!! No more Meets for quite a while and no more Zed and i am Saving to buy a house for just after Christmas!!! I can do all the work myself of course as i am a Mechanic but this is still a Very Bad thing to happen and will still cost me dearly :eek:

Even though this thread was over 2 years old and most Jap imports were spotless at the Time!! Some jap imports must be showing some levels of Rust by now as most have been used in the UK for a number of years now!! :)

"98" imported Jap import! So been in the UK for 8 years!! 3 inch round hole in inner wing right under the Battery :( Did not know it was there untill i did the brakes and saw a small Rusty hairline crack in the Underseal!!! So i poked it with my finger and it was just underseal!!!!:( all the metal had corroded away!! the underseal was the only thing hiding it..I can now see the Passenger side turbo!! :) Also Nearside rear arch starting to go at outer sill/arch return and inner sill/jacking point! Offside Perfect! :) Slight surface rust under front cross member no other holes or rust found after Giving the car a good major inspection.... Under the Battery tray on most cars can give problems with corrosion due to some acid leakoff over a few years so it would be advisable for most people to inject a good amount of Waxoil down there as its double skinned and a pain in the A*se to get to!!

When i got mine in had 72589 on the clock and that was Over 2 years ago it now say's 72748 and i know i have done more than 5000 mile's oop's :) Damn trip Motor!! :headvswal

Just need to clarify stock tt's 0-60 time auto & manual?? Most car reviews or Magazines tend to get this wrong!! :)

Alot of people buy cars like these and only drive them as a second car or in the summer or at weekends like me!!
