Ian what is the best manual gearbox in your opinion or experience? (does not have to be nissan) :)

Alot tt diff is 3.69 and na diff is close to 4.1 (4.08) There is a weight saving issue too! Some say the na diff is not as strong as the TT diff. Although this may be true there has not been and na diff destroyed power handling wise in a TT car to this date:cool: Na diff swap involves a whole subframe swap inc brakes (except calipers) and rear half of propshaft. Or you could change the ring and pinion in your TT diff by fitting either a leader gears one or a richmond gear ring and pinion.

its really some thing you need to decide on your own though! Drive both and see how you feel. But you need to drive the manual in different driving conditions to get the real experience and compare them.Or you could consider an Na diff conversion at the cost of loosing the rear hicas. There is still one for sale on here I believe .:) This will make your auto alot quicker if thats what your looking for.

Good point as auto's only have the engine braking facility in manual selection of 1 and 2 unlike manuals which have it in every gear.

I've driven a few manual's. Did not feel that much difference (also due to the turbo difference) between the auto and manual other than you have alot more control with the manual and no chance the the gearbox dropping down a gear just as you approach that bend and put your foot down a bit in the wet Lol.I did the next best thing! fitted an na diff and kept the auto! I just switch the auto to hold when in the wet and approaching bends.

Also be aware its not how many turns on a pcb mount vr but how much of a turn from each stop. Also when you hit the stop at either turn (left or Right) do not force it past the stop as they break easily.
