  1. Arrrrrrr, but it's got a secret weapon in your favour, the inverter has a high-pitch whistle when it's working!!
  2. Check all the incoming circuit first before separating it, as you could crack the panel VERY easily! 12 vdc up to the inverter, 110vac from the inverter to the panel. Also check to see it there is a fuse in the incoming line, as really there should be (but I'm not sure on OEM ones) HTH
  3. Well fooking done Daz :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: Made up for you mate :D Hope you had fun today ;)
  4. As a rule of thumb, if it looks greenish, then it probably should be able to light up, as all standard ones are silver (except 99's which are red) These were only available as a factory fit option in Japan, so not all J spec ones have them, but NO UK ones would have come from the factory with them. Oh, and Rich, thanks for the rear panel last night ;)
  5. Good to hear that things are coming along :duffer: Keep the reports coming mate :)
  6. E-mail him, he may do you one in green :D
  7. And for anyone wanting an Avatar of the rear, and in almost every colour, click here Have fun :D
  8. Well all i did was copy this >> Then edited it in Photoshop. Oh yeah, there's this one as well :D
  9. I wish, I aint that good. Nah, I nicked it :D, from here (you have to register) Have fun ;)
  10. Trying out a new Avatar along with a new addition to my sig :D What do you guys recon?
  11. It's not dripping, but then this seems only to be happening when I'm powering the car, not under normal driving. When she was up on the ramps, there was oil in various places, but nothing was conclusive as to where it was from, can't remember if there was oil on the bottom of the bell housing or not, will get down and take a look tomorrow.
  12. Thanks for that info, I'll look more in to it  :duffer:
  13. Thank You!! :D Just listening/recording my favourite old LP...................... Black Celebration, Depeche Mode
  14. Right, thanks for that. That sounds like a damm good contender, as I have noticed some oil deposits on the rear of the engine. Is it possible to replace this seal in-situ?
  15. Following on from the post pirate copies the other day I just thought I'd mention that I'm copying all my old Vinyl to the PC at the moment :D As I can't play vinyl records in the car ( they seem to jump for some reason ;) ) Would I be classed as pirating these, even though I own the records? I have no intention to sell any of these copies, they are so that I can enjoy some older stuff while I'm driving  Most of these would have been copied to tape yeasrs ago, but then I don't want to carry old tapes around with me. I've hooked an old record deck up to an old amp then linked it via the Tape 'Record' (output) to the Line-In on the PC. Then I'm useing Roxio Creator 8 to record, split, ID3 tag and then store them on the PC ready for transfering to CD later. ID3 tag is a bit pointless, as my CD changer in the car doesn't support it  I've also not got MP3, which is a shame, but I'm not wasting money on a new head unit when I've got a 10 disc in the boot :D
  16. Remove drivers door panel, and you'll see a rectangular black box, roughly in the middle of the door. It's got a plug coupler facing the front of the car. Disconnect this coupler, and unscrew the box from the door. Turn your soldering iron on, and gently open the box (front section where the plug was will come out). Carefully re-solder all the joints where the pins attach to the PCB. That should sort it out, plug it back in, and test it, if it's all OK, put the door card back on, if not, buy a new! Contact AndyZ in the traders section, he'll sort you one out. HTH
  17. I stand corrected! But then I knew what edk83 was talking about, as if you read the first post you'll see that he was talking about the 'Switch', and not the additional alarm 'Motor'. As he could not operate the drivers door from either the outside or the inside, then the 'Switch' obviously had jammed! But, like you say, it is indeed a switch and not a motor ;)
  18. TBH, and joking aside, I was a little worried when I found it, as it does seem a bloody good straight cut! :( As I'm 100% certain that it wasn't originally like that!
  19. That'll explain why I'm still getting a reading on my ConZult for both sides then :D Cheers guys
  20. The passenger side O2 sensor cable seems to have got cut!! (See pic) It's a nice neat straight cut, it's doesn't look like it's been caught on something then been snagged. I have no idea how this has happened  Looks like I need a new one :D
  21. Was travelling along the A46 dual carriageway and got the chance to power away and a large plume of smoke came out the back end, 'Oh, dear!' I thought, 'I may have blown a turbo!' So kept the speed down, and didn't notice any problems with the engine in any way, so when i got to my destination I left her running and checked all round her. No oil leaks, no smell of burning oil from either zorst, but there was smoke coming from underneath her! Anyway, that was the other week, I've had her up on ramps since then and, although we could see signs of oil, couldn't see anywhere that it might be coming from! But it is defo landing on the Cats, hence the burning. Did the same journey this weekend and did the same again, big plume of smoke again, and then the smoke from underneath, which is defo a burnt oil smell! Right, I've checked the oil levels, and the engine is fine, but the auto-box is high! But it must have been high since it was re-built last year. So, is there any way that some of the auto-box oil is being frown out of the box under high load? (No signs of it coming out of the dipstick) I've checked out the engine as much as I can, and there isn't any real important signs of oil anywhere there. All help appreciated.
  22. The one on the left is upside down ;) :p
  23. Yep, give Mike Feeney (MJP) a call, he'll be able to sort you out.
  24. Yep! That's about the size of it, pain in the ar5e! Better still don't waste your time cleaning the green gundge off, just invest in some nice new ones, well worth it. also while you're at it some new coil pack connectors, as these become brittle. I just changed the plastic part of the coil pack ones, as all the metal inserts were clean and fine. I can give you a contact for the coil pack plastics if you want (gota look it up) otherwise Mike Feeney should be able to sort you for the proper ones (MJP)
  25. Yes they do, and you need the proper one to opperate the passenger lock, I know as i had to fit a new one so that my passenger side worked! edk83, have a word with AndyZ, he should be able to sort you out.
