  1. Since when did the number plate come into the MOT. My understanding even with the new rules on size, it was still up to the discretion of the police to inforce. ie: some imports are fitted with smaller plates. Airflow to FMIC and such. My plate is reg size but a stick on. Passed MOT. Still to find out about discretion from the police.
  2. I have this kit. Bought it months ago. Just not got round to fitting it yet so don't know how the performance will alter. Didn't do any research. More of an extra amount of refreshment one night and just had to get the last bid in on ebay.
  3. Offside reversing light altered to fog light on my jap. Legal for MOT pass.
  4. My limited knowledge and only what I've read would say a 6 puck which is a much different style of plate with 6 contact pads instead of a full plate usualy of a much higher grade to give more bite to the clutch for high powered cars more for track use and not much good for everyday use in traffic.
  5. Thanks for the info on MOT and kenolang for link for parts. Once I have them, shall probably be back to find out how to fit them. Thanks, Stu.
  6. My suspension is good and firm, but the rubber covers on the shockabsorber are all to bits. Can this be a problem come MOT in April. Can they be replaced and where would I get them.
  7. When you say the pedal is low down. Do you mean it has a lot of teavel before engaging the clutch? I had this problem and got help from on hear. There is an adjusting rod high up behind the clutch pedal. On your back and head first into the foot well and with a torch you shall see it. Think it was a 14mm I used to slacken the lock nut and a pair of plyers to turn the rod. Anticlockwise shall shall make it emgage sooner.
  8. Yokohama on the front. Good grip and posative feel. Maybe more so in the dry. Michelin Pilot Sport rear. Good confident grip, but not decided yet how well they are wearing. But like a lot of wide tyres still break away on a greasey roundabout.
  9. Well thanks guys, some good advice. I recon I can take care off that now this weekend. Any tips on removing the centre console might save me some time. Quick mention to the helpfull zedword crew. My exhaust is shot on the section from cats back just after the mix box, so a quick call to zedworld and a replacement is on its way. So MOT ready soon. Thanks all, Stu
  10. My MOT is due soon and there is a lot of travel on the hand brake and some side ways movement. What would I need to take up this slack. Checked out the online service manuel to adjust hand brake. Would I really have to go to all the trouble of taking the rear wheels and discs off to adjust the brake shoes, or would I not get enough adjustment at the hand brake to save all that work.
  11. ok , for those of you who know what your talking about. I ran a thread some time ago about de cat pipes. This guy is asking about high flow cats. The same thing keeps coming up. If you try any of the above you shall blow the seals on the turbos. So did this engine ever exist without a cat. And if it did how diid it get from day to day without blowing the seals and possibly damaging the torbos. Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I would like someone who reallly knows to explain this to me. Thank you, Stu.
  12. That's not the answer we are looking for. Why have to go to that bother at all if there is a correct answer. I hear my exhaust on my car is starting to go and would be interested to know about this.
  13. Thak you, you are quite write. as above everyone. Don't know what went wrong couldn't get it back and lost interest.
  14. not working for me either. best forget it
  15. I like the ride I have with my Z which as far as I know is standard. But I do fancy lowering it. I have read all of your views on whether it's right or wrong. But never the less I may have to find ouy for myself sometime. But it dose seam expensive for the full job. So I wondered for an entry level to fit lowered springs but not with a hard ride. I also come on this on ebay and you have to admit it's cheap. But is it any good? Any views are welcome. Thanks. follow link. cgi.ebay.co.uk/90-96-Nissan-300ZX-Skyline-R32-Low-Springs-Coilovers
  16. For what it's worth In my manuel TT on a 500 mile journey, mostley motorway. Very stricte right foot constant 3000rpm about 70mph I averaged 22mpg. So I believe that is the best possible to achieve.
  17. Thank you. I'm no what I had to do.
  18. It's a 1996. The speedometer had been chanded to mph but the distance is still recorded in kph. Maybe there is something in that. I don't know. I was the first owner of this import last year. What I do know is that the limiter would cut in at 115mph until I had the cpu modified. This was all part of getting a performance chip fitted. Now of course there is no limit. By the way it's a TT
  19. Have to agree, My uk clocks on my import did not do away with the 115mph limit. Only sorted after alteration to ecu and after market chip fitted. Now I have no Idea how fast it shall go. Only just got a little past 140mph. Can't find the roads for any more.
  20. I have Michelin Pilot Sport 255.40.17 on the rear of my car and find good traction and good for road noise
  21. Just to add to the thread. Is an aluminium one a lot better, and can it last and take the strain of higher BHP. Anyone know? not just what we read.
  22. Go to zedworld.co.uk for a fitted cam belt price. Had mine fitted there. Sorry don't know how to place a proper link for you.
  23. I agree 350 max. As for Hicas, fit a bar and do away with it. Still have my electronic system. Wont work. You can get advice from lots off people. but at the end of the day. Still wont work.
  24. For performance try advancedclutch.com or fidanza.com
