TBH a rough idle is not usually down to just the injectors but more high lift cams, you will be ok on a 300zx as you cant really get really high lift cams unlike the skyline or supra where the skys the limit and you should hear some of them on idle!! IMHO i would rather lose a little bit of power and have a smoother car to drive a lower speeds :) Mike

sounds like thats what happened, tbh i didnt go into details with them about exactly how and where etc i was just commenting on how nice the car was and they said yeh until the owner put a big exhaust on it and it blew the turbo into the engine which caused alot of damage!? Oh well if he can afford an R34 GTR he can afford the rebuild costs :tongue:

well you call Rod Bell up and the owner of the R34 and tell them lol i think what Rod doesnt know about performance cars isnt worth knowing ;) what i was saying by the thread is you cant just bolt stuff onto performance cars without sometimes things going wrong including what we would class as the holy grail of jap cars the R34 so its no wonder if someone buys a 15 year old datson and fits some mods and it all goes wrong and they wonder why ;) wasnt saying anyone who fits a big exhaust will break there engine but more recently there are people on here who have cars which are not working well but still keep modding them :wack: Mike

the gtr's have standard ceramic blades even the 34 had ceramic blades but the turbo is roller bearing so maybe thats why i dont know?

tbh i dont know but the R34 turbos are pretty strong and can handle 1.2 bar and didnt have that many miles on them. bet he wished he left it standard :)

Should think again!!! While i was at RB Motorsports the other day they were showing me a stunning R34 GTR totally standard but the guy had bought a 3" system with a 5" tailpipe with decat etc Nothing wrong with that i hear you say!! the lack of backpressure sent part of the turbo back through the manifold and f*cked the engine!! Just goes to show you that a simple mod can cause a massive amount of damage on even the best of cars!? Oh and it was a 2000 reg with 20000 miles on the clock :smash:

Well got the hubs done today with my new longer bolts and lightweight spacers :) i did promise my old 5mm spacers to someone but i cant remember who wanted them?? Also nearly fitted my edfc, just need to fit the motors and plug it all in, cheers MAC for the idea of where to put it :) Mike

if anyone wants to go toyo's then dont go falken 451's same tread pattern and a better compound, all the skylines have them over the toyos and there cheaper :)

Still bemused why i got a bill from them??!?! as i'm PAYE and have been for all my working life and while ago got a £700 tax bill so i questioned it so they investigated my file and came back a few months ago with a revised bill of £1800 :headvswal so been trying to get it sorted with P60's and company car details etc but what they say goes and i HAVE to pay it now before they send the bailiffs in :xxx: :mad: so just had to make a payment which pi55es me off as it was out of my zed fund :cry: so looks like the bodykit, paint and the rest of my retrim will have to wait :( Ohhh well its friday so time for a beer i think Mike
