  1. i wouldnt go for an alloy prop as its not got the strength so if your going for one then either steel or carbon, personally i went for the steel as its just as strong and yes its a little heavier but not that much heavier and concidering the steel one is about £200 and the carbon on over £1k :)
  2. your loaded karl ;) youve just sold all your cars, i should be borrowing from you?? anyway i'm well and truely skint now :wack:
  3. I can beat that lol I bought a renault 21 turbo many moons ago anyway after having it for a month or so i decided to give it a good check over so checked the oil and it had none in AT ALL!? so went to the garage and put mobil 1's finest in, all 5 ltrs and checked it and still nearly empty!! so bought another one put it in and just got to the middle of the dipstick!! anyway a few days later driving it and ploooooms of smoke so i thought i'd fooked it so got in touch with the garage and he couldnt understand it until it clicked and he goes on to tell me they had lost the dip stick and put a clio one in and forgot to tell me!! anyway when we drained it there was 14 ltrs of nice oil in there lol To be honest it was fine after that Mike
  4. Last time i spoke to him he was just really busy with stuff at home which takes priority over coming on here and lets face it with all the crap he gets i'm not suprised he needs a break from here lol Mike
  5. dont know didnt ask lol it was a very nice one though ;)

  8. The last 2 parts have arrived so everything can now be shipped
  9. Well i thought it was going to be a fairly inexpensive weekend!! buy all the beer up front, only £20 for the whole weekend, have a diesel so only cost £30 in fuel. Result you would think for a top weekend of drinking :wack: That was until my father in law spots a certain black R34 GTR with a private plate on it. So i just had to have it :) So the deal is done and just waiting for the paperwork   Kirbz
  10. if the sigs have been forged then by law they finance company will have to withdraw their claim on the house and no doubt will persue legal action for fraud from the guy!!! she NEEDS to see a solicitor or at least the CAB asap before she loses the house!! Mike
  11. i am deffo going now with family in tow where abouts are you meeting at the end of the M55 muffy?? give me a bell tomorrow matey to sort out meeting up :) Mike
  12. well unless the debt is in both names then he is not allowed to put a charge on the house!! unless when the loan etc was taken out it was secured on the house and she agreed to it at the time and he has not paid it, then they could!?
  13. If the mortgage is in his name then he can technically do that but if its in both names then both parties must sign etc and to put a charge or second mortgage on the house they must have done a survey on the house to get its value etc or if he's done it in a dodgy way then she needs to seek legal advice :) Mike
  14. you plug it into each spark plug at a time and then plug it into a compressor at a set pressure and it has a dial on the tester which goes down if your losing pressure and if you are you listen to where its coming out from ie oil cap means its the piston or rings, the throttle body and its an inlet valve, exhaust its an exhaust valve and if its the head gasket then you will hear it from the side of the engine its pretty easy ;) Mike
  15. exactly i couldnt build it for that price over here with the time etc so was worth the £500 shipping on it
  16. that doesnt include the £4k for my new turbos and manifolds etc  and ive spent about another 2 or 3k on other bits and bobs
  17. you should be able to see the wastegate arm moving freely, not that easy. if you need to borrow a leak down tester let me know as i have one, great peice of kit and pointed straight away to my problems :) Mike
  18. its a lubricant and i think its also used to see if they make a good seal ie no leaks :) Mike
  19. engine and new clutch has cost around £8k once shipped :o :) as i keep adding bits lol what can i say i had a good year last year :duffer:
  20. I can honestly put hand on heart and say i have not got into any debt with this car ;) I only have 1 kid but do have a fairly big mortgage lol and i have a company car so i dont have to worry about regular car issues :) I'm quite luck as i get a yearly bonus which paid for the engine etc Mike
  21. Obviously first port of call is boost leaks but to be honest if you did have a leak you wouldnt be getting full boost so check your boost jets and possible change them or IMHO get a boost controller ;) Take the recircs off and see if theres any water in them as they tend to gather water, see if you can borrow a boost leak detector to check all the pipework. If you have a compressor try plumbing it into the wastegate pipe and see if the wastegate is moving freely. If your still having no joy then it could be something worse so next call will be to get a leak down test done which will tell you if you have a valve/ring/piston/head gasket etc leak which will also affect your boost threshold Mike
  22. I'm a sales manager for a courier so i'm not exactly rich!? wish i was but i do OK :) but i still have the kids, wife, mortgage, bills like everyone else but i try to put money into it when i have spare money :wack: The wife found out the other day roughly what i have spent on the engine and other bits so things are a little frosty at the moment lol
  23. yep :) my AEM ecu has built in full NOS control ;) not sure what sensors you would need but it can control a full nos map
  24. lol i know it would handle alot of nos but with running big boost its just not worth it. just enough to spool them turbos up so would get the nos programmed into my ecu from about 2000 revs to 3500 revs and thats it ;) the turbos can do the rest :)
