Oxford area???
are there any Zed owners in the oxford area that could help? My zed is starting, reving ereaticly spluttering then dieing, ive just had the plenum etc off to do the knock censor and now she has problems, im after another owner that could come round so i can check their engine against mine to see if ive got anything in the wrong place, its a tt, but an n/a might hold the answer also, If your up for it please call me 07787576472, thanks :hyper:

that seems a good option at the moment, ive been reading into it and it seems people remove them all the time, what does it do (other than fook a)? sorry but im a bit of a pest, if its there it bugs me if it aint attached to anything,

i just need a point in the right direction, the hose that comes of my AIV has come off (the top one) it T's off, one end goes down but i dont know where the other is ment to go to, the cars a mannual tt uk, if it makes a difference, anybody help? and while im on the subject whats does it do? cheers in advance

yeah throttle is defo closed and i cant find a spigot anywhere, i spent an hour and a half looking and im hoping one of you guys is going to say " you thick t*t its over there!"

Last week i took my car off the road because the knock censor packed up and then the maf did too and it put me in 'limp home mode' (max 3000 revs). I took the engine to pieces and changed the knock censor and was told the maf probably just needs a clean so did that too, Now the problems begin, 1, I have put everything back together and have this breather/vacume hose left and i cant find where it goes, pictures below, it comes from a small block next to the brake fluid pot, (car is a uk tt mannual) it has an electrical point at the bottom which is plugged in then 2 pipes coming off it one above the other, the bottom one seems to go down towards turbo but i cant find where the top one leads to, the top one T's off, one end goes down and the other is about a foot long and i cant find a home for it anywhere, its the one the finger on the right is holding,:confused: 2, when i started the car it was reving high, between 2 and 3000rpm, for a few seconds then in jumps up and down from approx 2750rpm to 3250, any ideas? ive checked the accelerator cables ant the butterflies and all seems fine, :confused: any help or point in the right direction would be appreciated,- Cam positions
does that mean just turn the bottom pulley until the pistons at the top of number one then follow the marks? or do i need to check the cam loabs are facing up?- Cam positions
I removed my plenum and bits to change my knock censor, to do this you have to take the cam belt off to get the idle pully off, now ive never timed a car before let alone a v6, i can see all the marks i need to line up on the cams and bottom pulley, but a mate said make sure piston no 1 is top dead center on the combustion stroke before putting the belt on, is there any way of knowing what stroke that is without taking the plenum etc and rocker covers off to see the cams? Ive been told the lobes on the cams have to be pointing up on first cylinder (front one drivers side), is this right? and what way do they need to be facing on second cylinder? (front one passenger side) i would be grateful for any advice, cheers- On strike at 3000rpm

can anybody help, I was giving my uk 2+2 tt some beans, not massive just a bit of a punch off a roundabout when it went on strike, there was a pop and fart out of the exhaust, immidate loss of power and now she runs lumpy in every gear and wont go over 3000rpm, any ideas? i know its not the det censor (knock censor), need quick replys please to get her running again before santa pod on sat, cheers :hyper:- blocked wastegate solonoid?

Ive just been getting busy with a zed in a scrap yard and noticed that the wastegate solonoid bolted to the side of the engine had a breather/hose cut and had been blanked off, just wanted to know why it was done, does it allow you to run more boost?- Number Plate
take the front bumper off and you will get the surround off no problem, mines a uk and it was just a couple of screws and clips, 1 hour job,- Can't find a boost leak, Still in Safety boost, Anyone got an ECU i can borrow??

Ive got one, no complaints, fitted in 2.5 hours with no problems, Front bumper pff, standards out, re-locate horn a little, cut off towing eye, fit, bumper back on, drive away!- Am i mad?

I blew my engine up a week ago, bottom end, just a quickie to see what you guys think, Ive brought an engine and am thinking about taking on the task of removing the blown one and fitting the new one myself with the help of a couple of mates, between us we have done ford cossie and pulsar gtir engines but a zed is a lot bigger and more complcated, add to the fact it would have to come out the top as well because we dont have a lift, are we taking on to much or has anybody out there done it themselves? :smw:- Running on boulders instead on petrol!
all the machanic did was take the engine out and fit the turbos, but it was lumpy from when i picked it up, sounds like something is rattling in the top of the engine, bottom end sounds fine,- Running on boulders instead on petrol!
thanks for your help guys but the cars a dead issue now, i did a couple more checks this evening, fired it up left it on idle for about 40seconds and the engine blew up, now sounds like a bag of bolts going round a washing machine, !gutted!, god knows what the mechanic did when he fitted the turbos but is claiming it was idling fine when i picked it up and now claims he had nothing to do with it, ARSE HOLE! anybody know if i have a leg to stand on? can i insist he rebuilds it or puts a new lump in free of charge? if not i cant afford to do it all again so the car will be broken and lots of parts for sale,- Running on boulders instead on petrol!
cheers for your help guys, i will check a couple more things and post back, firing order sounds interesting ill check that out, in reply to CarlZ, the turbos where fitted as phase one of my plan, and the day after i got it back the injectors and a LINK ECU from new zealand where to be fitted and mapped/set up, have i done things the wrong way round? and anything else i should be doing?- Running on boulders instead on petrol!
yeah its defo a missfire but can work out what, ive checked plugs and leads, got a front mount hks induction and dump valves, and the plan was then to fit my injectors and fit my link ecu and set up the next day, but couldnt due to the missfire, oh and the air filters are bone dry,- Fitting Polished Plenum
ahh, looks like ive been talking to the wrong people again, i brought my plenum and then got a phone call saying they had sent an auto one and needed to change it, listen to the guys above rather than what a chancer told me, good luck - A few little prblems
