I just picked up some super advan racing wheels with brand new contintal tyres on, sizes are 235/40/17 front and 255/40/17 rears, just wanted to know how much you guys think i could get for them? they are mint and have been sprayed black with a very subtle silver glitter in them, oh and obviously they are 300zx fitment, i paid £150 for them at a scrap yard, if they aint worth much i will keep them, but if they are worth a few quid i will look to sell them, cheers

I will start by apologising about the essay, i want to make sure i get it all down :) , My problems started a couple of weeks ago, driving home one night came off a rounabout and put the toe down a little and the car hesitated, coughed then farted its way into safe mode, I had to limp it home (2 miles) at no more that 2500 revs, first thoughts where ive buggerd it beyond repair because id never experianced "safe mode" before, i spent the next couple of days playing about with no joy, I then decided on a local auto electrican, he came out for diagnostics and found the maf had packed up and the dredded code 34 (knock sensor). I had a think about it and decided to do the knock sensor myself, after pratting about for a couple of days getting plenum etc off and putting it back together it was done. I then moved onto the maf sensor, i got one from a local scrap yard and fitted it, however who ever owned the zed it came form had cut one end off it to house some weird (cheap) induction kit i havent seen before, rather than fit the one it was on i adapted it to take my cones (HKS), However before i adapted it to take mine i put it on to check it worked, I reset the ecu by disconecting the battery for an hour and put a pair of tights over the maf to stop any crap flying into it, The car started fine, i let it warn up no problems, when it was warm i gave it a rev, to about 5000rpm, no problems again, a few minutes later thought one more rev then turn it off, take the tights off and fit my induction, however on the last rev up it coughed and farted and went into "safe mode" again, :headvswal Do you think by reving it with tights over it i have knackerd this maf or do i have an underlying problem somewhere? ive tried resetting the ecu again but with no joy, Its also started overfueling like a beast when i try starting it, is that becasue of "safe mode"? I was also looking at removing some of these, what are the advantages?

i put my car on diagnostics at the weekend and the code for the maf sensor came up, i have now brought a new one and waiting for it to be deliverd, my question is... when i fit the new one will the car be fine again (no more limp home mode) or will i have to get the auto electrican round again to wipe the code from the ecu? also the dredded knock sensor came up again :headvswal , has anybody tried one of the knock sensor relocating kits? are they worth a go? thanks in advance

use thinners then a dam good polish, thinners takes over spray off no problem but dont use to much and polish it off asap,

Ive made a few mods to my zed now, T28 turbos, induction, front mount, bigger rad, de-cat etc, she still runs without missing a beat (although over fueling a little) but im not getting the full use out of it all as i havent done anything with ecu, do i need a chip, ecu, piggy back ecu, boost controller or something else? i want to start upping the boost a little (its still at factory 9psi). can anybody tell me what i need and where i can get it? also whats the most psi i can run safely without blowing internals? ant help would be appreciated.

I dont know how to check them without taking the plenum etc off, but im sure somebody will help you with an easier way, if it turns out you need new injectors and or rail, e-mail me, ive got a whole stock rail sat here doing nothing and im 30 mins from reading,

if its the two plugs im thinking of the go at the back of the plenum on the right handside as your facing it, you'll have to move a few bits n pieces to get to them though

Any body help, ive put my car pack together after having the plenum off, everything is back as it should be, i turned the key to fire it up and it just keeps turning over but not firing, ive got fuel pumping round, spark plugs are sparking and im pretty confident ive got all the timing right, ive also checked all connections etc, can anybody through some light on the problem?

yeah that would be good cheers, i know a very good auto electrician whos coming out in the mornig with his diagnostics equipment, hopefully he will tell me whats going on, cheers

My zed is starting, reving ereaticly spluttering then dieing, ive just had the plenum etc off to do the knock censor and now she has problems, im after another owner that could come round so i can check their engine against mine to see if ive got anything in the wrong place, its a tt, but an n/a might hold the answer also, If your up for it please call me 07787576472, thanks
