Car Choices
They're all good cars, but as always all have their fair share of problems. The ones you have listed are really at the bottom of the price ladder, so I don't need to state the obvious and tell you to beware. I own a manual Gto and find it fantastic, but I paid very good money for it 6 years ago. I have had absolutely no problems with it (Touching wood :D ) The auto versions suffer terribly with autobox problems by the way. I owned a Gt4 many years ago and found it excellent, but they are getting old and many have fallen into the hands of the "boy racers" now. Soarer- good car, never owned one but many seem to have been looked after. Prelude - Never ownded one but many of my friends have, they said that it was a great, reliable car. 300 - I'm not going there, especially on here. You'll get enough comments on that one. All I'll say is that they too are a fantastic car. I love mine and it's been faultless. Sorry to add that on there, but I hope I've given you some help. Ade.

Boils my blood
It's getting a little crazy to be honest! I'm the most easy going person many are likely to meet. I keep my views to myself and believe everyone deserves fair play and a chance. But sometimes I think that perhaps there are far too many people like me who seem to be letting things happen when we should be saying something. As some of you know I work as a punisher of law breakers. And we have a town not far from us where the population of Polish people far out-number the residents, therefore some of my colleagues have been taught Polish in order to be able to deal with them fairly! Now that's obviously a good idea, but when 2/3 of the residents language is Welsh, and I mean full time, first language Welsh, It's a little unfair when the organisation doesn't bother taking the trouble to look after them in making sure there's enough Welsh speakers to go around! On another note, I recently sold a car on e-bay to a Polish chap. He turned up and started the normal "I'll give you my price for it!" and was talking all the time to his mate in his native tongue. That p*ssed me off just a little bit, but the best bit was when his mate spotted another car I was selling. He went and looked at it and said "It is far too old for me!" The cheeky sod! I asked him what he did for a living and said the obvious - "Nothing!!" What are things coming too eh! We have to deal with enough people benefitting off the state, but this takes the proverbial! Anyway I'll go back to minding my own business now and target innocent motorists! Only joking! Ade.

Thanks guys for your time and advice! What do you suggest I do? I'm in no hurry for the parts to be honest, but the ones on e-bay seem a good price, and he'll post for £4.

I have found the ones on e-bay. Item number 220170883017. If I can't get them in Samco or similar then I'll buy these, but I thought I'd ask you folks first.

Heater matrix hoses!!
Hello. Would anyone know where I could get replacement heater matrix hoses (The ones at the back of the engine) for an n/a? I realise that it is possibly only from the main dealer, but I was hoping for some samco ones if they were available. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ade.

Water leak advice needed!
Hello. I've just noticed a pinhole size leak in a hose at the back of the engine. My question is does anyone know where the hose runs to, as I couldn't quite see when I had a brief look? The hose is as mentioned at the back of the engine right at the top. What I believe is the heater matrix hose that runs into the car is just under it. The hose in question has a jubilee clip at one end, but the other end vanishes below and out of sight. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it will give me some sort of idea on what kind of job it's going to be, and how to get at it. The car is a N/A by the way. Thanks in advance, Adrian.

Am I being nasty ?
:D :D :D All I'll say with regard to children is - They didn't ask to be born! I was never charged lodge when at home, and I learnt the value of money from a young age and certainly did not consider myself "out of touch" when I did leave home. I would be mortified to think that my parents wanted me to move out, and it would personally really upset me! I'm sure you all know that many youngsters cannot afford to leave home these days due to the cost of property. Would you want them to take financial suicide just so that you can have a little peace and quiet? I wouldn't and would support my children fully. Sorry if this offends, but just my opinion. Ade.

Any Coppers about?
Yes, I'm a copper and I have to say I agree with most of what's been posted. I have never worked in an environment that's full of such absolute ars*holes. Yes they are usually the ones that were bullied once at school and now have an issue with everyone. And yes many go out of their way to cause members of the public as much inconvenience as they can. On the flip side we are not all the same, and it does get my goat when everyone jumps on the band wagon and slates "us". I work hard for my living and deal with volatile and dangerous situations daily, and it is hard to stay positive when it appears that every tom dick and harry wants to call you all the names under the sun, just because they bumped into one too many Robo-cops. Unfortunately there are far too many of these, new breed of coppers out there who try to emulate the tv coppers we so often see. I'm not that old, 34 infact and I have puppy walked many a police probationer and I have been stunned at the attitude they have. I don't think things are going to improve, as like stated earlier in the posts, many of these prats have come into the job with a chip on their shoulder and nothing will eradicate this. I have been stopped many a time whilst out and about off duty, as I have a passion for fast cars and obviously this tends to attract the police, and I have met some right to*sers. It makes me sick to think that I am classed the same as them by so many, but I guess that's what I signed up for eh! My advice, no matter how difficult it seems is to stay calm and let them do all of the talking. Listen to everything they say! This is important as many of them know very little, and tend to bluff. If they are out of line you have many options open to you as far as a complaint is concerned. If this is the case, inform the officer how you feel and take a name and collar number. These officers need to be found out and if more people complain they'll be discovered sooner. Whatever you do, don't lose your temper or start to get antagonised. They will use it against you in an instant!!! Perhaps I'm too normal to be a copper these days! I know I'm the only copper where I work, that can walk the town after midnight on a busy weekend alone, and not get any problems. I put it down to the way I treat people and being fair. (Size helps too!) But if all the coppers were like this, then perhaps they'd gain some much needed respect. I hope you can see my side of things folks, and thanks for reading my view. Ade.

Will a 300zx fit?
Don't do it!! Only joking, but it does take a toll on your private life! If you need any help or advice with your application, or how the job is from a "real" point of view, then let me know. ;)

Will a 300zx fit?
Built my garage, or bungalow as the neighbours call it 2 years ago now. Takes 6 large cars and can open the doors on them too. Looks good with the Zed, Skyline, Gto and some others in it. Would post some pics but don't know how. At least I've got somewhere warm and dry to go when the misses is cleaning the house!!

just bought an Evo FQ
When I had mine the servicing bill came in at just over 2k a year. The clutch is only supposed to last 4-6 thousand miles and was costly to replace. I am talking about my experience with a brand new one, and obviously this would differ to a secondhand car, but basically, if you want one of these then be prepared to pay for it. You can run them on a shoestring, which can be said for every car, but it's not advisable. Hope this helps. Ade.

I have gone for the last couple of years and found it to be a great day out. Not sure if I'm going this year tho due to work commitments, but will try my best!

just bought an Evo FQ
If it helps, I had a new Fq-340 2 years ago and it was fantastically quick to around 100mph. It is true that they are are laggy but going through the gears as you should it was crazy. First gear was really redundant and I found myself really just using it to pull off, putting it into second as soon as I could. I sold it as the servicing was an absolute pain and a rip off, and I also found the car hard to live with due to me being too nervous to leave anywhere. A shame really as they are amazing to drive. If you can live with my above comments and the tackiness of the interior, then they are hard to beat. Oh and they do like petrol! I can't really comment on the comparison between the zed and the evo, as I only have an n/a, but the evo wouldn't live with the skyline I replaced it with. Ade.
