  1. Aye...that be me! You're the fella I scooted past a while back on a sunny afternoon near the M4? I'll take this as a 'partial mention' on the 'Was it you' board then!!
  2. I've done a few trips now from Readin to Stoke (M4, A34, M40, M42 and M6) and not been spotted once! AND I'm a RedZed!! Only spotted one other fellow yellow Zed as well onetime outside Brum!
  3. I checked out Sunnyside but their quote was £200 more than Kremers. Also, I checkout out Kremers and the owner 'secured' my rear bumper for me to make it road safe and after only a morning's work it looks like new bar the actual damage to the fibre glass and paint work and best of all...it was FREE! I'm planning on booking the Zed in for the front and rear bumpers to be touched up in October...will let you know how it goes...
  4. Seeins as how everyone on this thread should be fairly local....further to my thread in the advice section, does any one have any experience or know anyone with some of Kremer's Motor Body Repairs in Theale? I got referred to them by a 'mate' I see in the gym and just got a fantasticly low quote for mending my front AND rear bumpers...which makes me think...is this too good to be true or is everyone else I got estimates off tryin to get the better of me?? Anyone?? All help much appreciated!!!
  5. I will try to make it down for this! I've been away last couple mths so missed a few!
  6. haha...cheers for the offer Greg...post some details if you can but at the moment I've been in contact with a few I found of ye olde yell.com so will see what they say. If it seems ridiculous, may well give your guy a call!! Pricey - my missus was around but not til the Friday so might have been another Zed with a gorgeous looking occupant...and his missus! lol...can't remember seeing you around. Whereabouts are you? I'm in the Basingstoke/Northumberland Raod area. Maybe see you at the next Reading meet? As for the brake fitting, I have no idea I'm afraid! I'm only a few mths (5) into owning my Zed and am not a Reading local to boot!! But...a tip which may be worth checking out is...head down to one of the specialist car audio shops..there's a few around if you need details...but they seem to know more about modified car services than anyone else and usually refer you to good poeple...I hope anyways! That's how I've found the bodyshop!
  7. Bit of a drive as I'm not sure if my bumper will allow safe driving that much but will give them a call! Cheers for the tip!
  8. Further to my thread rE: bumper protection my first day back into my 'home' office after a while away sees the new mountain of a speed ramp rip the right side of my rear bumper away from the car! It's had a few bangs in the past, but this time I see two bolts and some sheared metal. I've tried to knock it back into place but to no avail! Can anyone refer me to a good place to get this sorted that won't rip me off..? I have no idea how much these things should cost to fix...fingers crossed!! Also, is it safe to still commute in this vehicle? The bumper isn't flailing but is clearly not aligned with the body of the car!! Lookin for a speedy turnaround on this one if poss guys! Also...if any of you might be able to help personally I'd be more than happy to part with cash!
  9. Yeah, I've sent him a pm and waiting on a reply. Hopefully he can help, but in the meantime thought I might pick some brains...
  10. Thanks for that Mario - is useful but I'm not sure it is capable of doing everything I want it to! I'd really like to have a chat with anyone that has done this carputer lark before...from scratch so I can pick their brains about sourcing hardware, fitting, software, features, etc....as I can't find anything on the net that's specific to the 300zx. The close to Berkshire or Staffordshire the better as well!! Hope to hear from someone soon!
  11. I found this while surfing las night....the car seems to have the bumper kt, but then a black plate/tray underneath. Is this purely for styling or does it have other functions? Does anyone know if this would help my issue of bumper scrapage and if so where I can get hold of one cheapish??
  12. I've seen this zed for a few yrs now...always parked in the same area of the carpark and being slowly done up....
  13. Diamond! Cheers for all the tips fellas!! At least I have alternatives to look into now! Still hoping to keep the cost minimal so will be VERY intersted to see these 'how tos..' once folks have had a chance to complete their projects!! Keep me posted if you can!! Cheers!
  14. That sounds PERFECT! Yea...would really appreciate a heads up when you're done!!
  15. How? how? how???? How do you BUILD a carputer? That's magic that is!! I'd be more than happy to have a crack at this for that price....but tutorials? Req'd bits??
  16. Awesome! Cheers fellas!! Much appreciated!!
  17. Not sure if this should go in this section... ...but...... ...I'm looking into getting an ICE setup in my Zed as I only have the factory fitted speakers in there at the mo (and the back ones don't even work!). I do however have a Panasonic face-off cd player :hyper: Anywho, I was wondering if any of you had recently had a good setup fitted including speakers/subs and the headunit itself and where/how much/etc...? There are a list of things I was looking for as below (quite extensive!): CD HDD (to store the music rather than caryr it around) Ipod interface USB interface Rearpark cam Satnav Motorised Touch screen (6-7") Digital radio Bluetooth connectivity Remote function Full speakers (front/back/sub) - I haven't a scoobies about speakers other than they come in diff sizes (lol :smw: ) However, I do know I don't want to sound like a chav. So prefer top quality incar sound with minimal outside...which I guess means sound insualtion in panels too....? Basically looking for as many of these as possible for as cheap as possible! I got quoted £1400 for just the headunit and 2front speakers fitted from a local car audio specialist but does it really have to be this expensive?? Fleaby is looking VERY tempting... :x:
  18. I wanna be spotted....
  19. excellente!! Shall have a crack at that his weekend then I hope...may have to get my hands on a pair of those lovely wooden ramps tho! As for the ride height...aye....has adjustable suspension/ride height but not had a play with them yet....the drive feels perfect as it is....
  20. I'm a complete noob to this so don't hate me...but all I have to do is jack the car up...and fill from behind? Or is there more to it than that?? Layman instructions required I'm afraid...I'm a noddy! :slap:
  21. Follow up to earlier...as you can see from the pics, the crack are quite small at the moment but getting longer and longer, spreading across the width of the lwoer bumper.... ...so can I use foam filler? and won't this appear white and uneven??
