Hartwick's Rule
Something I came across today - Hartwick's Rule of intergenerational equity! It sounds complex but it basically says that where a resource-abundant economy fails to fully reinvest the proceeds of the sale of those resources it will deplete its total capital and run into negative savings. For example: extracting and selling oil amounts to running down the capital of a country, unless the receipts are fully reinvested in financial, physical, environmental or human capital. This would in effect be 'reinvesting' the proceeds of the non-renewable resources thus providing 'resources/returns' for future generations. Interesting when you think about the path the UK has been on over the last few decades and the hole we're in now! But also precisely the reason why some of the Middle East and Asia are absolutely rolling in money! I thought it was interesting anyways...:p

snowing
Well...I got into work for 10 and was told to go home by 2. As no one wanted to play with me in the snow I decided to have a wander around my work with my camera and took these....

snowing
I missioned it into work today in the hope that noone else would actually turn up and that me and a mate could go out and play in the snow....but it badly backfired and enough people have showed up to mean I have to sit around doing nothing wishing I was outside! I REALLY want to go play in the snow! Feel like a kid again!

Autobox problems
I've got the 'old SE Nissan' fast road autobox you refer to in your for sale thread mate! lol...my car was worked on by them back in the day! I'm going to run a diagnostic and see what it throws up...fingers crossed. I haven't saved up enough yet to go manual :x:

Autobox problems
Hi all, can anyone help? My Autobox has been playing up for a while with gear changes under static load and constant revs. It's quite tempramental playing up more in the wet. I've checked TPS and that seems ok and tried disconnecting ECU but its still playing up. I am planning on changing oil but not got around to it yet. While I was driving last night, the car started jumping. It wasn't the engine as it didn't do it in neutral, only in 'D'. I had to drive it under '1' and '2' all th way home while it was playing up. But after maybe 30secs, it would calm down though I couldn't get it to shift up once I reched lower revs and think I may have lost 3rd gear? Will something as simple as an oil change fix this or am i looking at something more complex/expensive?? Thanks!

Slumdog Millionaire and Seven Pounds
I've seen both...7pounds first...very very deep but absolutely fantastic. Saw Slumdog last night and in all honesty I have to say one of the best films I've ever seen (and I've seen A LOT!). Can't really explain it but just left you feeling so god damn good inside!! And entertaining throughout to boot! If you haven't seen it yet...do yourself a favour and go watch it!!

Racelogic traction control
I can't speak of experience of driving the Zed without RLTC as I bought it with...but its not once stepped out on me regardless of weather and I've given it some bean in pouring rain (not ice)....I think it certainly adds some comfort and well worth it from what I've heard a Zed is like without...
