  1. well guys now i have finaly sold my madza i now have cash to spend so i went down to the local scrappy and picked up some goddies Heatermatrix In V good condition powersteering hose ( we now on closer inspection don't need it but hay spares) Speedo convertor chip A/C conversions heads for R134a Gas Two rear seat belts ( for my m8) oh and 2 cans of coke ( thristy work taking out a heater matrix Guess how much i spent....................................... You ready for this £7.20 Speedo convertor is already in my zed and works a treat the car feals much more lively and she pushes past 120mph    :duffer:
  2. i would get hold of some Tar and glue remover made by autoglym or other top brand go round all your external rubbers with it then go round with some bumper gel or autoglyms rubber trim restorer, the t &g will pull the polish off and clean the rubbers right up then us the gel to protect and give it back its luster
  3. bloody harsh if you ask me take it somewhere else mate i will bet that if i does fail it will be on something silly
  4. ok point taken about the rack but you still do have to bare in mind when it comes to drift the lighter the better hence why you swap to the N/a rear rather than just eliminate the hicas which also leads to a problem with what happens when a eliminator bar lets go under the extreme pressure of Acceleration and going side ways, i have done extensive research into this as i plan to get into drifting, the other advantge is that when rebuilding a tt you know exactly what condition the engine is in and how much you can push it, most people think that 400hp is the best u can go with a tt but thats not true you can push the block right upto 1000 bhp but obviously your car would no longer be tamed on the public highway let alone pass an mot emissions test. ok so ive not had my zed long but a good read and alot of research can go a very long way Take a look at http://www.z1motorsport.com everything you need is right there (thats parts that is)
  5. hi mate if you get a N/a cheap enough like i have then a t/t conversion is very possible it all depends on what you want the car todo, If you just want to drive around a look flash then just get a standard n/a or t/t if you want to get into drifting then buy an N/a and convert, Most people buy the T/t for its power and think it will make a great drift car, which they do but your going to be very hard pushed to get a standard t/t to drft due to the Hicas ( rear wheel steering) dont get me wrong with enough balls and push they will go, so what most drft t/ts do is eliminate the hicas but this still leaves the car a little unresopsive when cornering due to the slack front steering rack, (which the hicas makes up for) So most t/t owners swap the rear subframe for the lighter n/a rear subframe and the for more positive N/a steering rack. But doing this also leads to a few mis matched parts that needs to be swapped, what i'm planning on is rebuilding a t/t engine and drop it into my N/a as i only paid £950 for it in the first place i dont feel that the converson is going to be to much cost ok you still have to add bits from a t/t to the engine bay like your intercoolers and a new rad and oil coolers plus all the piping but it seems more logcal to me to spend the time rebuilding and upgrading a t/t engine and still having a drivable car until that weekend when you have sourced all the parts, and booked a weekend of from the family or work and just crack on with the conversoin where as doing it the other way round could see the car off the road for weeks cus you did not have the cash to buy those upgrade copper vavle liners that you desperatly need hope you find this usefull

  14. Well it going to be my on going project any how what fun would it be just buying a t/t when you can do a conversion, i read on the brakes and there the same dont know how true this is but as im going to be adding a big brake kit i don't think it really matters just got back from Reading Jap Meet and met a few z owners from the forum and they could not belive the price i paid well i just hope my car gets up there with the rest off the zed owners on this forum would be a real shame to keep the car in the state that its in so rebuild / rebore and modds are all the way forward i hope to meet some more of you guys at the other meets
  15. just got my first zed and i'm 22
  16. i totaly agree when for a nice drive with the roof off yesterday and god does it put a smile on your face
  17. in breif you need to change/ modify the lower mounting for the rad new rad , oil cooler, intercoolers , swap part of the engine loom, space the starter motor a N/a manual gear box has a slighlty smaller casing so the start needs spacing oh a you need to have the ecu chipped and set up other than that there not much else to do, unless you want a real t/t with the hi cas and other toys, but most people change the rear subfram to a N/a for drifiting perpuses plus the N/a has a more active powersteering so there is a tighter turning circle on it ill post a link to the info, if i have got anything wrong then please let me know
  18. cheers guys i will be at the Reading jap meet tonight so i hope to see you all there As for a t/t conversion there aint much more todo to stick a t/t in a N/a Just need to add and change some parts hope to see you all tonight
