The PC in charge has just come and dropped off everything I needed!!! :D He also told me it wont be too long til my car is released to the insurance. Some good news at last.

can u believe it - the police were very helpful ! he said he will personally get the items from the car (even thou he DIDNT ask me what i wanted removing from the car!!!!) and he will arrange to meet up and give me them. to be honest ive no idea what he is gonna bring and each time i tried to get a word in he never let me! oh god.:cursing::cursing:

i don't understand what we pay insurance for when they do nothing AND i mean absolutely nothing? i could rant on and on myself but I wont. The police told me that the recovery of the car and storage is completely free of charge. thing is - i dont see why they need it for so long, if only they cud release to my insurance i wud get a courtesy car. plus, i cant remove personal contents without a content release note from the police officer in charge. oh well i'm gonna cal him now!

i would have thought the same. my insurance are doing NOTHING to help. They want me to contact police - they want me to get a release note for them so they can repair it. they wont gimme a car. they wont contact any1. they keep giving me numbers to call. its not my fault, but yet, im getting treated as if it was. i feel like not paying the excess and getting repaired myself. so far the service i have had hasn't been even 1/10.

Thanks for all the replies guys, yeah i'm fine actually, completely injury free, i was shocked but I think finally I kinda ok now. The damage to my car wasn't all that major to be honest. Ok so i got more questions... So this MIB - do I contact them direct ? Would they fund a hire car for me? Only reason I ask is not including normal daily tasks I do take my mum to hospital once every 4-6 weeks to Manchester hospital (next week) which is about 100 mile round trip, I really dont want her to go by train and to be honest I dont have any1 else who can take her, apart from maybe a taxi :( more expense!

Hello... i'll try make this short - I got a few questions... I was driving on my birthday (last week) and I decided I would go to the gym instead of the pub (wish i went to the pub now!) Anyway on the way home i was involved in an accident... I was hit by a stolen motorbike which was traveling in the WRONG direction down a dual carriageway with no lights on in the dark. The rider decided not to wear a helmet and is now in critical condition, the passenger ( aged 14) was wearing a helmet who suffered minor injuries. OK so basically, I spent my birthday in the police station giving a statement and doing breath/drug/fit tests. Anyways, the next day I call my insurance... I am not entitled to a courtesy car apparently until my car is being repaired by an approved garage (so now i have no car) :no: the police have my car and wont release it till they have done the tests they wanna do. also my insurance want me to pay my excess of £350 ! Its not even my flipping fault.... So I dont have my car coz of the uninsured theif, also i cant get a courtesy car either, i spoke to an accident management company regarding a hire car but they said as the driver wasn't insured they wont risk giving me a car as they probably wont recoup the costs! So I seem to be losing in every situation??! My question(s); Is there anything I can do while the police have my car?? I know once they release it to the insurance I will get a courtesy car but until them I am really stuck?? The police wont even release items in the car yet, so my mates wallet is stuck in there along with my gym bag and loads of other stuff I really need on day to day basis like my ipod!
