  1. Every Day mate, Every Day!!
  2. Nope, gone through a few owners and I've never managed to get the plate back. Many have tried to sell it to back to me at silly prices.
  3. Interesting. Although I don't understand how the car has lost 123 BHP since I owned it back in the day. Memories of us being banned from the rolling road because we flat lined the 500bhp Max rollers at 4.2k rpm. Was remeasured on a decent rolling road at 623 bhp at the fly. Looks like there area few changes on the car sine I sold it. Many hours of blood , sweat and tears went into this car. The Majority of the work I did myself (Paint and Engine rebuild excluded).
  4. I would be interested to know the results for this one. I never did get the full figure for this car. When I finished building it myself and John dixon mapped it and flat lined a dyno at 530 BHP, got kicked off as the owner though we were going to break it and then mapped the rest on the road. :)
  5. Hi Mate, How you doing these days? I lost a fair few vids due to an unrecoverable hard drive crash a while back but there are still some on youtube just check under my username stufoo1.
  6. I'm in the process of builing my pond at the moment. It will be a Koi pond so a little bit deeper than 900mm (7' to be exact) however if you are looking for a sealant that is fish friendly, the best one avilable at the moment is G4, however this is a little on the expensive side. Have you thought about fibregalssing it or getting a box linner for it (unless of course it is not a square / rectangle). Also remember that if you are not going to go for a specific pond waterproofer or fiber glass you must make sure that the resin and gel coat are not toxic to fish. In both these cases after the pond coat has cured it must be washed down with soapy water before filling the pond. Are you going with bottom drain gravity fed or pump fed system, I would highly reccommend a bottom drain?. Also for a koi pond of that size you really want it a little deeper. minimum for Koi is about 4'6". One other thing, for the surface area you have you will probably need two bottom drains and the bottom benched towards them, unless of course you are looking at aerated bottom drains like spindrifter, in which case you don't need to bench the bottom, only make sure you reduce all 90 degree angle to 45 so you don't get a build up of waste for the bad bacteria to breed in.
  7. Just got a quote from Pallet line. just under £80. Wow. That will do me just fine. Thanks Anthonyd. Cheers for responding as well Paul. But I don't think I'll get cheaper than that. BTW it's a pond purification system (i.e. Nexus 310), just incase you were wondering what I'm doing with my spare time now I don't have a 300zx LOL.
  8. Anyone got anyexperience in this area. I need to get a large item transported from Glasgow to me in Essex. Item is only about 50kg but 1.4m x 1.35m x 1.1m in size. DHL quoted me £650 as due to the size it get put under the 400kg category. :helpsmilie: I've worked out that 2 day van rental + deisel is only about £300. + 15 hours of my life which I won't get back. I've also considered the train from London to Glasgow and meet and greet van rental from there. But all the rental places seem to close at 12:00 on Saturday and are not open on Sunday so no good for me as I need to do this on a weekend only. Any idea's links or suggestions?
  9. Nice one, thanks for the update. Always nice to hear the progress on the old girl. What Manifolds is he putting on there?. Dupree / Mike Smith or something else?
  10. Any update or is it still a non runner?
  11. If it's any help getting this solved. You have a PTU series 2 on there and also the injectors and coil pack connectors where replaced back in 2009. The connectors themselves were connected to the existing loom, so I would personally peel back the insulation on the coils and injectors and check that all the wires are still soldered in place. Sounds like you had had a wire pull itself apart within the insulation of one of the coil packs, hense the reason your coil pack dropped off. Then by replacing the coil pack without finding the reason it died you still have the problem and this time it went into meltdown rather than dieing gracefully. Check all the wires to the coil packs and injectors. Make sure there is no resistance either side of the soldered connection. You'll probably need a new Nismo 555cc injector and NGK plug to replace them. Jeff, in your experience would you also check the cylinder for debris /scoring or has this problem been known to just melt and leave the cylinders alone?
  12. You'll have to put some recent pics up mate. I'm always interested to see how the car looks.
  13. Hi Matt, Yeah I didn't even bother mentioning it to you. It was a condition of the sale that I get the plate back as the guy I sold it to wanted it the day we got it mapped. So I sold it to him and he promised to get the plate back to me as soon as he got a new one - never happened. Next this was sold onto a forum member here who I knen. I did ask him about it and he agreed he would give it back also but then sold it before that day came. Then it went to another forum member. I did mention it at the start but if I'm honest it had now got to the point where it would have just been a pure kindness of the heart sort of thing. Anyway he offered it back to me for around £500. Out of priciple I didn't buy it back. Now it's on to you. It's been threw a few people now and if I'm really honest about it. I'm no longer fussed about getting it back for 2 reasons: 1) The plate act's as my signature. I built the car from standard and have signed it in way of the license plate on the fron tnad back as well as the paper work. As long as the plates on there the work I've done on the car will be remembered. 2) Me and the missus, now have his and hers private plates on my M5 Beema and her 230k convertible Merc (sad but true). Good luck with the ownership mate. Not sure what the oil leak is but hope it's not a big issue and you get it sorted quick. I suspect someones tried to fit a sensor for the after market gauge and failed :D. Unless it's damage or gasket related. Stu
  14. Too true, they also sound the best when they are pulling away from your house 5 minutes after the exchange of documents :)
