Well, I HAVE been out but obviously back in now. Saw Jackass...........aahhhhhh man, that is funny. Don't know why I've logged on, sad really, but not really tired. (Zimon........lets bury the hatchett)

My Z tt seems particularly bad on fuel, its like getting a cab everywhere, I do have a lead right foot though..........but I absolutely love it to bits. I would say first off get an insurance quote (don't know how old you are) and secondly take one for a spin and go from there....... Good luck.

Coolant temp sensor gave me all sorts of probs! Can you hear your little elec fan running all the time? Looked into PTU?

My Z is my pride and joy, I can see it from my desk at work and run out if so much as a leaf happens to fall on it and brush it off. Just had the wheels done, which makes it a little more painful, but I have some touch-up paint that will more or less make it vanish I think. ;)

I have found that with mis-firing either PTU or temp sensor is to blame, most of the time. Have you checked these? Or the usual connectors on top of the coils. Plugs ok? Whats the story so far? what have you checked?

Its a trick! Don't tell him! Whenever I get pulled over, I always make a point of getting out straight away and not waiting for them to ask me to "get out of my vehicle". I think, in some peculiar way this really does help your case in question, followed by generous portions of humble pie! Once they've gone and you've been lucky enough to get away with it, you can call them all the names under the sun! "pesky pork chops" is my favourite at the moment.
