proof of cat 1 alarm?
Doesn't the installer have to send the info on the alarm off to the alarm manufacrurer. Toad might be able to help you if they have a copy of this

Overfuelling or petrol problem
I had a similar problem with mine last week. There are 4 pipes under the nose cone that had been corked off. One of these had come out slightly and this caused lots of black smoke. It did affect the reading on my boost gauge tho so maybe not. The joys lol!!

Veilside rims
If you do want to look at getting it repaired you should look at these guys. They did a superb job sorting my 944 alloys out. http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk/

Pointers on buying a 300zx?
On the insurance side I asked a couple of companies why it was more and they said it was because some of the parts were slightly different and therefore had to be imported. The windscreen was the only thing he could list though and I'm not sure if he said that just to shut me up lol If you look around though you should be able to get it down to a tidy amount. Mines a manual TT with targas and they started off quoting £1200 with some companies. Got it down to £540 in the end tho, unlimited with mods declared( similar to what you be looking for) and I'm 27 if that helps any.

Rough idle and poor boost problem
There are 4 pipes in the same area as the air filter just underneath the pipes that go to the filter. They have all been blanked 2 of them with wooden plugs. One of these on the left hand side had come out. Put it back in and it began to idle again. So I took it out for a test drive. Seemed ok, boosted fine a couple of times and then the third time there was a pop and no boost and idling badly again  Got it home and the plug had popped out again and I noticed there is black smoke from the exhaust. Replaced the plug again and it not quite idling properly but nearly. Only thing is when I rev it a bit there is a bit of black smoke coming from the exhaust. I thought this was excess petrol, is that right?? Could it just be that the ecu needs to relearn it's settings. I just don't want to take it out again if I'm going to do more damage?? I definitly owe some beers for the boost leak pointer by the way, cheers

Rough idle and poor boost problem
Hi everyone My car unfortunatly started playing yesterday. When I let off the power the car almost stalls then rises to about 1.5k and then drops again, It does this for a few seconds and then evens out so it's like the ecu is re-learning or something. The boost is also poor and quite lumpy but the car runs ok between boost and idle. There's also a really strong smell of petrol from the exhaust. I have checked the ecu and it is coming up all clear. I have also tested the o2 sensors here but they were flashing more like 6 or 7 times in 10 seconds instead of 5 times, could this mean anything?? Could the temp sensor affect idle and boost and could the egr do this also because there was someone on here with similar probs that had an egr problem?? Thanks

First major issue!! engine not happy!
It's smelling really strongly of petrol out of the exhaust too, could that point to the O2 sensors??? Any help would be appreciated

First major issue!! engine not happy!
Right I have just been looking at the car and it's flashing code 55, I also did the engine light test for the O2 sensors and these seemed fine too. Does anyone know if this is a good test or am I better off disconnecting them?? It is smelling of petrol a bit too so I checked for leaks and there were none. Don't know if this maybe something to do with it. I am going to get the car up in the air tomorrow to check all of the pipes going to the turbos, if I follow all pipes coming from the turbos will that be it?? Never had a turbo'd motor before so I'm not really sure  It was also said the temp sensor may have something to do with it, is there anyway to test it?? Lastly if all else fails does anyone know where may be the best place to take it to get a conzult onit?? I'm in the Farnborough, North hampshire area. Apologies for all the questions but I'm really not well versed on the 300 yet

What cat1 car alarm/immobiliser?
I have had 3 toad AI606 alarms now and I have never had a problem, great bit of kit. Only problem with the latest one is that it doesn't chirp when you activate and deactivate it, well not a problem as such but annoying cause you have to look at the hazards when you lock it. Fitter says it was something too do with EU regulations on sound pollution???? madness

First major issue!! engine not happy!
Cheers both. I will be checking the error codes as soon as I get back but if that show up zilch then it's good too know what else I can look at. Couple of questions though?? Whats the AFM?? can you tell me whereabouts the O2 sensors are?? and lastly, sorry fairly new to the 300, I take it your on about the temp sensor for the ECU?? Cheers for the uick replies!!

First major issue!! engine not happy!
I was coming into work this afternoon and all was good, pulled up at the lights and noticed the idle drop and the car nearly died but then the revs shot up and then it evened out. Pulled off and it felt fine so I gave it a little juice. The car gets up to 5 psi easy enough and then crawls up to 7 which I believe is safety boost. There is no smoke or anything but it does feel a bit lumpy once it gets above 5 psi. The idle is now also jumping about a little for a few seconds and then evening out. This morning it seemed fine and I drove about forty miles with no problems. I will be looking to see if theres any error codes when I get home but was just wandering if there was anything else I could check while I'm at it. Cheers

Turbo timer ain't timing!!!!
Cheers, easier said than done tho, The manual is in Japanese and I think it was installed out there too!! :headvswal Might be a trip to my hopefully friendly alarm place. Is there nothing else it could be or would be worth checking??

Turbo timer ain't timing!!!!
I changed my heater matrix this weekend, something I never want to do again by the way  Anyway everything is working great apart from the above. The timer is part of the alarm which I believe was fitted in Japan. Everyting else works including the remote start but when I turn the engine off thats it, where as it used to stay running for 2 minutes after. Just wondering really if anyone had any ideas of which area of wiring I would be best off looking at first??? Cheers
