  1. Check the water in the rad mate. Looking at the car it's at the front on the right, metal cap. Check thats topped up. When you says jumping, is the needle actually jumping quickly or is it moving between the two in a steady motion??
  2. Cheers fellas but I changed the oil about 2 weeks ago with Silkolene Pro s 10w 50. Same stuff as was used before I think. What is this lifter treatment???
  3. Hi all Started the car up yesterday and noticed she was tapping quite hard. Had a listen around and if I put my ear against the plenum, front one on the right I can hear the sound really loudly although it does quieten down a lot once the car has warmed up though. Any ideas would be appreciated!! Trying to get a video up but it's the wrong format and I'm in work  so I'll try again laters. Anyone know of a garage round Aldershot, Farnborough area who might know what they are talking about?? Cheers
  4. Ignore me then matey, thats not the one I was on about. Don't think i have touched that one before!!
  5. Where abouts is the yellow plug you removed?? If it at the front of the engine on the coolant pipes then it is the Temp sensor for the ecu. Could be sending back bad readings. I had probs with this the other week... Took it out and cleaned all of the green cr*p off it and voila!!
  6. That was good thanks mate. Found the leak anyway and the system is holding pressure now which can only be a good sign..... Still not getting above 8psi of boost though  Cheers for your help though!!
  7. cool thanks Can you tell me where about the boost hose connects to the turbo. I'm underneath it but don't know which one it is. They all seem to be metal???
  8. Think it's coming from around the tub itself, Any ideas on how I can pin point it???
  9. Hi all Finally managed to do a boost leak check on the car and I seem to have a fairlybig one as above. Sounds like it's coming from around the battery area at the side of the engine. Think it's quite big cause by pump can't presurise the system at all. The air is just leaking straight out. Just wondering if there's a pipe round there that usually goes?? I can hear it but can't find it!!! :headvswal Any ideas would be appreciated!!
  10. Looks like I'll be checking for leaks this weekend then..... Just have to make a tester now lol Cheers

  13. I thought the needle would rise and fall a bit though if this was the case??
  14. Think it must be what garages you go to with powerflow then because I had one on my last car (v6 mx-3) and it was superb. I had the car for 4 years and the exhaust was still looking spot on when I sold it!!
  15. That looks well meaty, gorgeous!!

  19. Quick question With the boost problems I've had lately I have done a lot of reading through threads and from what I understand standard boost is 9.5 and safety is at 7. My car since I got it seems to reach full boost at justover 8. I think the guages are fine cause when it dropped into safety it was running at 7..... When it gets to eight tho it stays fairly constant which leads me to believe that it's not a boost leak. So my question is could it be anything else and if not it must mean it can be adjusted so is there anywhere around Hamphire that I can get it adusted back up??
  20. That seems to have sorted it thanks fellas
  21. Just cleaned it all up, see if tht works first. Do I need to disconnect the battery or should the ecu relearn if I have sorted it??
