  11. fair play to the pair of you and thanks for posting up info and pickies:bow: IMHO all the various z/zx forums/clubs should make a concerted effort to have a joint meet at one of the events that the Zs are competing in to support the drivers the same as used to happen in the HSCC series:thumbup:

  14. Al, I bet you now have an even bigger supply to hand now when changing the nappy !!!!
  15. I believe you can have a smaller than standard plate on your car if it does not have European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (i.e. it's a Jap, Australian, US etc. import), and the vehicle's construction/ design cannot accomodate a standard sized number plates (query how this would be interpreted in court). Assuming you can satisfy the two limbs of the above test, you can have a number plate with a minimum of: Character height- 64mm Character width- (except the figure 1 or letter I) 44mm Character stroke- 10mm Space between characters- 10mm Space between groups- 30 mm Top, bottom and side margins- 11 mm Space between vertical lines- 13 mm (i.e. motorbike size) Otherwise it's a minimum of: Character height- 79 mm Character width- (except the figure 1 or letter I) 50 mm Character stroke- 14 mm Space between characters- 11 mm Space between groups- 33 mm Top, bottom and side margins- 11 mm Space between vertical lines- 19 mm Note that, providing you have the 11mm margin round the outside of the plate, and the characters are properly formatted and spaced, the physical plate can be as small as you like (hence those gay cut out ones you see advertised sometimes). The font is also closely controlled on numberplates made after 31.8.2001 (a problem if your car has been made or imported after this date). British Standard BS AU 145d requires the plate to have the requisite level of reflectiveness, and to have the postcode etc. of the manufacturer printed on it (which is why Halfords, for example, are twitchy about printing you illegal plates). The rules on size vary slightly for plates fitted before 1 September 2001, but it's not worth worrying about these details (see date of import point above). Copied from the driftworks forum
