  1. Hi, I wonder if anybody has a guide to the value of a '94 300ZX Z32 Fairlady TT Targa fitted with a Strosek wide arch body kit? The car was modified in 2001/2 with the body kit, and a number of other modifications (UK headlights, UK radiator, HKS Intercoolers, Bilstein suspension, Azev A wheels, JWT ECU, +++). Low mileage. It has just been put back on the road and MoT'd. Fyi, I'm not planning to sell it.
  2. Hi, Just raised a bank transfer to renew my subscription. Thanks Geoff
  3. I can recommend OSC near Chessington World of Adventure who did my car. A small outfit that also undertakes a number of classic and prestigous cars - ask for Rob (the owner) on [020] 8397-1144. Geoff
  4. I have a series 3, and like a '99 model, this has the electric HICAS. Did any UK model have the electric HICAS fitted? (I thought all the UK models were fitted with hydraulic HICAS). I am not sure the UK clocks would be compatible, if your model has electric HICAS, but would appreciate knowing more. Thanks, Geoff
  5. Mmmmmmmm. Thanks Paul C and Zevans for the feedback. I think I was put off too easily. Ciao, Geoff
  6. Hi, I did consider this some time ago, when fitting a new clutch, but steered away with concerns about having to really rev the engine to pull away from a standstill (I could not face stalling it all the time in town) and loosing much of the engine braking when lifting off the thottle. I guess it is all related to how light you go. Interested to know how you have found these 2 original concerns Paul? Thanks, Geoff
  7. (A Triumph owner helping a HD owner - whatever next?) Hi James, Your mate may like to take a look at these people. They are perhaps easier to travel to, from Beckenham way? Quite a few Triumph owners (old & new - the bikes) have used them with very good reports. http://www.farehamplating.co.uk/ Ciao, Geoff
  8. Ha ha - trick question? Imports generally have 7.5Js all round, and UK/European 7.5Js just on the front, with an offset of 45mm. The UK/European 8.5J rears are 35mm. .....................................and the space saver spare is 30mm !!!!!!!!!!! Hope this helps. Geoff Footnote: Interesting fact that if you have a UK spec model, then you cannot use the rears on the front, etc.., and with the scoops for the brakes (the stock wheels are mark Left & Right) you cannot rotate at all.
  9. Hi, Sorry about your plight. There are 3 pages that may help you in the Online Manual, on identification (pages 18, 19 & 20): http://300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=gi&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=18&design=default&total=25 Apologies, I have been away from the site some time, and forgotten how to quick link this for you (must recall it for the future). Good luck, Geoff
  10. The kit use to be available from SE Nissan down at Maldon. It consisted of a panel to weld into the existing aperture, which took the Aero filler. It use to be in their paper catelogue that I saw some years ago. I believe the Aero filler is made in Rainham, if it is the same one I bought from Think-Auto. Ciao, Geoff
  11. Ah, something I can add a couple of comments on........ There is a difference with the Import TT Auto and Manual models. My TT 2+0 Z is a Manual, and unlike the Auto, does not have an oil cooler as standard. I believe this is true for the NA Manuals (perhaps the NA Autos too?). The way to go is to fit the TT (Auto or UK) Filter bracket and pipes. I tried the various Sandwich approaches and there is not enough room: 1) The exit points do not align up to allow any safe connection (on a TT - not sure if the NA would be any different?); 2) You would have to fit a smaller filter such as the Micra (also fitted to the earlier 300ZX31 models, I believe), otherwise it would be holed at the first bump. I also tried moving to a remote filter, but again the pipework was the problem. After much heartache, I learnt that the way to go is to fit the Filter Bracket, and also the standard pipework to the front of the car - then you can match up to a good Oil Cooler (I can recommend ThinkAuto as the supplier). Hope this will help somebody (I think I have a fiche print of the parts somewhere). Ciao, Geoff Added: Oilcooler Fiche Pics x 2 (Word.doc)
  12. This pic is in Smithy's trading area. Does it help? fuel_line_kit
  13. John, My car, a series 3, has the electrical HICAS and it is just a case of removing the fuse (footwell). I know Stillen does the manual HICAS eliminators (shown on their site) for the series 1 & 2 - I guess this may well be the one offered by Courtesy? I believe you remove all the HICAS, saving weight, and the eliminators/plates lock the wheels. Best regards Geoff
  14. Unfortunately I think it is a hoax, as Earth (the grand experiment to find the answer [42]) was demonished to make way for a Galatic Super-Highway when Ford Prefects were on the road. - Don't forget to take your towel with you everywhere!!!! Geoff
  15. Hi Pambos, The prices are good. Warning:- You also need to be prepared for the UK hit (GBP/Sterling equivalent) - 17.5% VAT; 6.0% Import Duty; Admin charge by the delivery company for tax & duty collection (varies between companies). You may be lucky, but you should be prepared for the worst. Still a good price though. Good luck. Geoff
  16. This link may be of interest? Ciao, Geoff Year/Chassis#/Type
  17. Received the clutch line today. Looks a great piece of kit. Thanks Mark, I am very pleased. Best regards Geoff
  18. Hi, The rear offset given for a wide arch is -31. My spacers were 49mm, so I ordered an offset of 18 with my Azev A 10x18s. The Azev A at 10x18 can be ordered with a range of offsets (14-20) - the inner hub is machined in the factory to give the required/ordered offset. I think you will see from the above, how you can cater for a verity of wheels and their offsets (both modular and cast). I was a bit confused to begin with (and also spoke with "Macca"). PM me if you want to chat (although I was hoping to avoid talking to the Devil for a few years more!!!!). Ciao, Geoff
  19. Mark, An immediate answer - it has to be my one!!! (Although the picture does not do it justice, and it was not in a completed state). The Photoshop version does look good, but perhaps a little too aggressive for the smooth lines over the rest of the body? With such a nose, perhaps more side vents (the Z-centre double vented side) and a rear undertray would go? Personal view. (The bottom line is that generally, all Zs look great). Best regards, Geoff
  20. Ah....... found it: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22363&pagenumber=1 Very clever (Photoshop?). Ciao, Geoff
  21. Mark, The Z1 picture is a Strosek as I have always known it, and as far as I know not changed. The picture is quite old and can be seen, with others, in a magazine article that Eric has on his site. http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/Articles/tmag.htm Paul Bailey Design added spot lights to their fibreglass bumper, but still had the (Mazda MX3?) indicators. http://rides.300zx.co.uk/rides/48/Car-1.jpg PBD also did a modified version which linked to Alfa-Spider like headlights, and can be seen on Paul Bailey's own car. (See attached). Do you have a picture or link to the nose you are comparing to? Best regards Geoff
  22. Alex, I think the information you are looking for may well have came from me originally? Fyi, Charles changed career and moved to France some time ago now. I'll send you a PM tonight. Thanks. Iain, I owe you a call, and will call tonight. I would have contacted you about this first, but fooled myself into thinking your arches may have come from another company. Thanks to you both. Geoff
  23. Hi, The arches and back light panel on my Paul Bailey wide arch kit is showing some signs of "sinking". I would very much like to talk to somebody who has a true PBD kit about their car and its finish, etc.... Could you send me a PM or put a reply up and I will contact you. My kit is a true Paul Bailey Design kit, and not one of the clones. Thanks, Geoff
  24. Rob, Have you just changed your spark plugs by any chance? It sounds similar to a problem I had when I fitted UK spec plugs into my import. Subsequently there was a theory that it may have been the gap and the boost pressure was blowing the spark out under high acceleration. ....Geoff
