I think theres a law regarding this which could catch you out. Its says to be within a certain distance of a public road it needs to be insured. Bureaucratic :xxx: 's 15m springs to mind but I'm not sure, best check it out anyway :) Pete

I had the stupid situation where I had an old Fiesta for sale, not being driven, just sitting in my normal parking space for a few weeks and I'd moved the insurance onto the mondeo. Finally got round to advertising it and when the 1st person came to view, that morning one of my neighbours had backed into it :rolleyes: and boshed up the wing. When filling out the claim form he asked for my insurance details - it wasnt insured, my opinion was that why should it be?? In case someone stubs their toe on it and sues me? :confused: How much harm can a stationary car in a parking space on a cul-de-sac cause FFS?? I ran AA legal services who said that the insurance would probably pay out but would be obliged to inform the police of an "uninsured car on the highway". FFS The shit you hear chavs getting away with every day in the news!! :mad: I bet I'd have got the full whack, 5points and £1000 fine or whatever. In the end the neighbour was nice about it and gave my £200 and I sold the car to a smalltime trader for £200 less than advertised, everyones a winner ;) Sorry, back to the origianl popint - yeah the car does have to be insured by someone else. What annoys me is that why cant a already insured car be insured temporarily for someone else to drive?? Code 55 means all clear. I'd try sorting the battery terminal to rule that out first. Intermittant faults are often down to something electrical :) Pete

Yep as SSBob says - the "lights" warning light will be because of the way the resistance is changed by wiring up the fog lights, it thinks theres a bulb blown but there (probably) isnt, mine does this too.
