Emissions
Had mine last week, CO: 0.15% vol HC: 21ppm vol Not bad for a 15 year old car. Especially when you consider our 1.4 pug's figures are, CO: 0.05 and HC: 23ppm pretty pleased, as it went though with no advises

Our Z's Verses the environment, Feel guilty??
Spot on, and a damm good way to raise taxes, and attempt to make people feel guilty for enjoying living. Bit like smoking and drinking that are now socially unacceptable. Soon you won't be able to fart in public. There is truth in global warming, that and global cooling, and its all natural. It wasn't that long ago that the scientist and politicians were up in arms because they said "the next ice age is coming". That was in the early Seventies, by the early Eighties we were all going to die in a nuclear holocaust. Now we have Man Made global warming, which I guess has nothing to do with China, India, and Africa trying to join the "first world countries". or That our goverment does not want to spent money on bring this counties road network up to date? or a hundred other reasons that have nothing to do with the Earth doing what its done for millions of years, warming up and cooling down. Sorry but the money that gets spent on proving all the bs that comes out of 10 Dowing Street these days, could be better spent.

When's our next meet?
I don't think you'd be stepping on any one's toes, I believe Tony did ask if anyone had any suggestions for a meet. My thought pattern was more the fact that it might make a change to head your way,is there anyway near you or in the surrounding area suitable. For the Reading/ Newbury members have a run down the M4, Bournemouth and Poole members a good drive up the A343. Plus the fact your on the border of the South west and Midland areas so there's an opportunity to have a joint meet, the more the merrier. If you can think of any where I cannot see any reason way the suggestion should not be put forward and see what Tony and any other members think.

When's our next meet?
Chap, whilst I understand and respect the fact rolling road, is not you thing. I think you've misunderstood my point, it not about going looking for trouble, a "health check", is never a bad thing. "For warned is for armed", after all. While, "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" is an opinion we both share. While I'll happy to maintain her, I've got better things to do, than strip the engine to bits just for the sake of it. I know though experience with Japanese performance engines, when they go wrong, they do it with a "no expense spared" attitude. Why don't you organise a meet yourself, and we come to you or a point some where in between, rather than you having to travel south all the time. You could even be make it a joint meet with another area.

When's our next meet?
Dave, rolling road day's don't have to be about hp, a run on the rollers is also a good way to make sure every thing is running OK. If you have a problem like the it runs rich or lean it will show up, and by the way you may not notice it on the road until it becomes a major problem. Just, my opinion. And by the way if I wanted power, I still wouldn't have bought a TT

When's our next meet?
Dave, There's a rolling road day on the 4th August in Bournemouth

name the exhaust game
The reason powerflow pipe corrode is because they use low grade Stainless- steel. Stainless-steel is an alloy, made up of commonly carbon, steel, nickel and chromium, it grade depends mainly on the chromium/nickel content. 10.5% chromium being low grade, 26% chromium being high grade. Unfortunately the more chromium is in the steel the harder it is, which makes it near impossible to weld, and eats machine bits for breakfast. Places like powerflow train people to weld, hence the reason they use low grade stainless,301 i think, it welds easily and is more ductile. The main point I guess is that not all stainless-steel has the same corrosion resistance

What's an induction kit.
I'm not really that up on MAS, but I believe it has a sensor attach to the plenum chamber, and measures atmospheric changes in the plenum. MAF uses an air flow meter, so measures the amount of air passing through the meter. Some of the EVO guys have their cars converted from MAF to MAS to get rid of the air flow meter. Although MAF is the more accurate way to read your cars air intake, thus set an air/fuel ratio. I hope this helps. In short if you going to fit a cone filter to your Z, you will need an adapter that bolts on to the air flow (MAF) meter.

What's an induction kit.
Dave be careful with the adapter, There a two main types on the market, one for cars with MAS, the adapter bolts onto the filter then slides into the air pipe to the throttle body. The second is for cars with MAF, the adapter bolts onto the MAF and then the filter slides onto the adapter. I believe that Apexi filter is the type that has the adapter bolted to it. It might be best to ask the seller first before you buy.

Eeek - potential neighbour from hell problem!
The main point should be, who owns the fence. If the fence fell down is it your responsibility to replace the fence. If it is, you own the fence, and as I understand it, they would need your permission to paint/stain the fence in the first place. If your deeds say the fence is yours, tell 'em to sod off.

Quick track day question...
Lots of good advice there, I would only add a couple of things:- If its dry add 3-4psi to your tyres, not 20%, this will protect the side wall of your tyres. If its wet reduce, tyre pressures by a couple of psi from normal. The main piece of advice I can give is work up slowly, remember SLOW IN, FAST OUT on corner entry and MOST important keep an eye in your mirrors and let faster cars through. Indicate to the left to let people behind you know your aware of them and are letting them pass. Good manners on track will mean everyone will have a good day.
