i've got a stutter, it can be very fustrating knowing what you want to say but not being able to say it.
  5. my wife is asian and its normal for her to see me as the man of the house cos i am the man lol. its in her upbringing not to have sex before marrige so when she does get a man she wants to respect and please him, because if the man is happy he can work hard and provide a good life for her and her children. the role as a woman and mother is getting weaker in todays world and it aint a bad thing its just asian women tend to be seen as repressed but they arent they just live that way and are comfortable with it. my wife is buzzin
  6. zx's and crx's are my favourite cars, for the money nothing comes close! i myself prefer the non vtecs they are much more fun and can be got cheap. i've converted my mates from fords and vauxhalls etc and alot of people think they are a 2000cc engine! keep looking and dont be put of my high mileage even if the engines sound abit rattly cos its easy to sort, i will keep my eyes open for you too,
  7. i call them baby bullets :D i've got 6 at the mo but non are on the road apart from my workhorse with a slipping "original" clutch..it's on 149000 miles! other wise we could have aranged something. a nice non vtec has just sold on honda crx.co.uk for £1100 it was a real bargain.. keep a look out on the site, you can get some real bargains
  8. you're misses has good taste! i'd recommend she has a drive in both the 130bhp non vtec and the 150 bhp vtec both are great cars (i've owned over 30 in the past 7 yrs) but both drive completly differently, the non vtec is very gutsy all the way to the stock 7000 rev limit. were as below 5000 rpm vtecs feel like a average 1600cc car but after 5000 all hell breaks loose all the way to the stock rev limit of 8000 rpm :D one guy i knew had never hit the vtec point and driven it in vtec, he used to change gear before and had never given it any welly...he was very shocked when he found out wat happened after 5000 rpm, jekyl and hyde was what he described it like :D
  9. honda mk2 crx from 1988 to 1993, up to 1990 they had 130bhp and a 1/4 mile time of approx 15.5 secs, 1990 onwards they got the 1600cc vtec engine with 150bhp but most seem to be pushing 160-170bhp even at 150.000 miles plus. insurance is cheap, ultra reliable, very econimical 1600cc engines, a 100 miles from £10 petrol is easily possible. can seat 4 adults and can take a washing machine in the boot :D prices range from £500 to £2000 for a early non vtec, and £1000 to £4500 for a vtec. for £2000 you would get a top example early non vtec crx, or a decent vtec. on the road they are fun and shock new civic type R's with there performance. if you add a turbo blowing 6psi to a early crx and your lucking at approx 200 bhp and low 14 sec 1/4 miles, add a turbo to a vtec and your on mid 13 sec 1/4 miles, this can be done for about £1000 and the stock engines are fine with it.
  10. if a girl genuinely likes a guy she will never be "too busy" to see him full stop. you aint gonna hurt the "poor girl" did she not think you'd be hurt when you found out a male "friend" stayed over and you could imagine them getting up to allsorts? i doubt it so why should you. women think differently and she knows what she's playing by the sound of it so move on buddy. tip:use the womans frame when dating and you'll always be 2 steps infront
  11. i've had a search for chrome head light inserts and think they look nice, i was going to get some done by the guys that did some of yours but the finish in the pictures looks bumpy and not smooth mirrored like chrome should be. have any of you got pictures or comments on your inserts? i have found a guy local to me that will chrome headlight inserts to a real chrome finish for £90. if anyone is intrested let me know.
  12. alaskan malamutes are gorgeous, japanes akitas look very similar. i agree holding a dog by its lead with its from paws off the ground and beating it is cruel and would never condone it myself. my male was purchased at 12 mths old and already had behaviour problems and got profesional help to sort it, the normal dog trainng classes were no help and i was turned away from 1 place because akitas are fighting dogs, i went to that trainer as a last resort because he was a police dog trainer and knew his stuff but was shocked when he used the word "hanging" i'm used to big dogs i had a argentinian mastiff when i lived abroad, even helped with my friends scrapyard rottwieler but when your own dog bites you it's scary
  13. carls got a zed, i honestly dont no, i've heard it mentioned afew times even some police dog handler got done for "hanging" his dog and giving it a good kneeing in the ribs. what ever the trainer did with my dog worked and japanese akita's are very hard to train. craig david, i dont no if it works with women haha, i was lucky my wife hadnt had any owners before me and i trained her very well from the start. as long as i provide food, shelter and a good loving life for her and the kids i can buy as many cars as i want..she's even on talking terms with t mistress...1 day they will be friends
  14. what breed of dog is he? wolf  i had 2 japanese akita's both were perfect with my kids and my misses and everyone else who were friendly, the male on the other hand bit me once on my arm and used to get cocky with me quite often and was not trained at all. i spoke to a man who i used to see walking 2 rottwiellers and he sed his male was the same and reccomended 3 x 2 piece of wood and to lift the dog by his lead..he used the word "hang" and to give the dog a gd whack  i wasnt going to do this as i thort its cruel and eventualy went to a police dog trainer. he said give me 2 weeks and you'll get a well behaved dog back that no's you are the boss! he showed me demonstrations of his security dogs and i was impressed he even said if your not happy when you get your dog back you dont need to pay me. 2 weeks later i went to collect my dog, he was a changed dog! the trainer then had to train me and make me the pack leader  i was tld to give the trainer some stick and wrestle him to the floor and act like im giving him a good hiding...the dog was tied up while the "training" was carried out...he was going mental! when we finished i was told to approach my dog and atemp to touch him so i did and my dog growled at me. the trainer then ran of into his house and i walked in after him, i went back the next day and the same act was acted out, this happened for 5 days and on the 5th day my dog just sat there submissivly and let me stroke him..i was now the boss and the dog was fully under my control i said sit and he sat, put a treat on the floor and he wouldnt touch it until i said eat  i asked him how he did it and he said training (with the trainer in body armour) and the dog needed to be "hanged" afew times...i didnt ask any questions about hanging i just paid him £500 and went, for another £500 i could have had the dog attack trained. apparantly hanging is common practice with police and security dogs
  15. i have noticed afew people mention traction control on zeds, i'd like to know were and how much it costs because i'm seriously considering getting it for my zed, reason being i've just bought a m plate lexus ls 400 it has traction control and its awesome, turn the TC off and its a nightmare especially in the wet. i'm not saying TC will stop you smashing your car because a car can only be pushed so far before the law of physics kicks in and you'll smash up, but its does make driving alot safer even under normal..ish road condtions... eg:i would let my wife drive the lexus in the wet with traction control but i wouldnt let her drive it if it didnt have it.
  16. if a car is written off by the insurance company it will require a VIC check before a log book is issued, when you recieve the log book it will say on it that the vehicle was was written off or damaged. you sometimes get lucky when the insurance company hasnt notified the dlva that the car is a write off, so if you buy a written off car without a log book i'd reccommend you phone the dlva to see if there is a mark against it. if there is no mark your laughing becuase the car has a clean title, if not you simply apply for a VIC check but the vehicle will have a write off title and will have a lower value
  17. i am in the process of smoothing the stone chip effect on my pearl white 1995 zx, i sent the petrol flap with a note saying nissan 1995 (like i always do)to the paint shop when i was ordering paint so they could get me a good match, when they delivered the paint it says honda pearl white and looks like a good match. i have been painting for years and have a body shop but have never experienced anything like this before. i was just wondering if any owners of pearl white zx's have had problems when ordering and getting a good paint match on their pearl white z.
  18. i have a car body shop and have been painting cars for years and never heard of flatting a metallic basecoat before laquering, you only ever flat a base coat of there is a defect in it and then you have to repaint with base coat. if the blemishes in the base coat are minor it should be ok to laquer it and flat and polish it and you most proberly wont notice them. use a tack rag between coats of base coat, it removes dust and other bits that could spoil the finish. never use a tack rag between coat of laquer.
  19. it could be a number of things such as paint reacting with the old paint and primer, moisture, no hardner added etc, to rectify it i'd recommend you sand /strip back to bare metal to reduce the likelyhood of it happening again, and due to you saying the laquer is still soft enough to leave a finger print embedded in it. use 2k primer and 2k paint. 2k paints contain isocyantes that is a type of cyanide and can be FATAL if breathed, painting 2k requires air fed mask to paint safely but you can buy disposable 2k safe masks nowadays for about £20, use one it's better to be safe than sorry. i no alot of people paint 2k without any safety precautions but i wouldnt risk it because different people react in different ways. one guy has been painting it for years with no ill effects one of my friends on the other hand actually siezed up, his arms, legs and chest went tight and he couldnt breath or talk, the ambulance paramedics thort he was having a heart attact, scary prep and 2k primer it as you would and leave it a few hours for the primer to cure, you no the primer is cured when the sand paper doesnt clog up with primer (any residue on the sand paper should just desolve in the flatting water) dry and wipe down with a panel wipe. apply 1 coat of your red paint, touch a bit of masking tape that has the red paint on it to see if its loosing it's tackyness, when it is you can apply the second coat do the same for the remaining 2-3 coats. if the 2k paint is mixed and applied correctly it should be fully cured (air dry, with no heat)in about 7 hours and ready to wet flat with p1500 paper and ready to buff. if you have runs or the paint was applied abit too thick you going to have to leave it longer, leave it 24 hrs anyway just to be sure. hope this helps
  20. get a rear quarter off a scrap car and get it fitted on. i dont know what labour prices up your end of england are but down here in the north west it would cost £200-250 to get the quarter replaced. fairly simple job for a body shop. its not too hard to do it yourself if you were up to doing it your self. basicly you need to remove as many parts as possible from the surrounding area, then look carefully and find all the spot welds and drill them all out, then split the joints with a chisel and remove the panel. grind down all the edges so they are flat. now you have removed the damaged quarter it'll be easier to remove the undamaged one with out messing it up. once its removed clean the edges up and offer it up and line it up and hold it in place with clamps, mole grips, and tack weld it up if you not happy with the alignment grind the tack welds and re do it untill its perfect and weld it up. grind all the welds till they smooth and prep it with filler and panel sealer it in places that are not externally visible. then prep it for paint. hope this helps
  21. sounded good to me to :hyper:
  22. the twinz will supply 10 bumpers and nose panels for $4650.00 so why dont 10 people who want the bumper all pay $465 (approx £250_ to one trusted member of the forum and get a batch of 10 delivered, then all you'd need to do is pay a little extra say £50-70 for their time and packing materials and delivery and everyone is happy what do you reckon?
  23. you can make your existing oem mounts alot firmer for under £10, all you need to do is get one tube of windscreen sealer or panel sealer (available from machine mart or motor factors) remove the mounts and fill them so they are solid with sealer. even if your mounts are wrecked after doing this they will be better/firmer than when new.
  24. i have a bodyshop in leigh it's about 40mins from leeds. i cant give you a exact price because i aint seen the car but a guide price on reasonable condition bumpers would be £250 to do both bumpers including smoothing the bumpy texture on the lower parts, or £200 without smoothing them. refurbing alloys start from £40 a rim.
  25. yes i live off M G lane, you do too lol im on the opposite side though, i had a g reg dark blue 300zx (it's still in bolton and going strong, it's got a private plate now starting OIL ****)and a number of honda crx's, you may have seen them outside boomerang auto's, i used to see your zx quite alot when it was white, i used to go boomerang autos quite alot but people started associating me with them so i dont go there as much and i've got my own bodyshop up the road in leigh, i am mainly driving a red honda crx at the moment but i should have my n reg zx on the road in a few weeks, i'm just soting afew bits out and smoothing the bumpy texture on the bottom of the bumpers. did he sort you paint work out in the end? he's a good lad but he's really a mechanic not a body /paint man, but saw theres good money in body and paint so his brother set him up bodyshop (his brother is a mechanic and is next door) when i saw your car i was gutted cos i used to see it driving around and it looked nice, i thought theres no way the owners gonna pay for that job...you shouldnt have paid him, he's used to it lol. i might sound harsh but it's only cos im a painter myself i must say though that he's one of the busiest body shops in bolton..but also the crapest
