		Help with old account

Hi, I was registered on here in 2009 and for a good number of years but fell away around lockdown as the car became more and more a garage ornament. I am interested in getting back into my old account but am assuming it has been locked due to inactivity. I was registered under the user name Gabriel in the Scottish section, if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Cheers Martin.

This sums up the state of the country

next time round can we have a virus that attacks morons and leaves the old and those with underlying conditions alone, might make the world a much brighter place. At the very least we might be able to get some bog role. On a more serious note did you see that all buckfast production has stopped. My area of scotland is in its second full day of mourning.

		Scotland - November 2019 Meet.

Mine is currently burried in the garage under the contents of the house while we have some work done. With any luck in the new year I can get her out and fixed. I have a notion to use her as a daily for a while, I have only put about 3000 miles on her since I got her in 2009.

To all the tree huggers out there.

Not really, draging around the electrical substation that would be required to provide the power that would be required to move something of that weight around would give it away. At the very least tripping over the 11kv cable might alert anyone that it was there. This is one of the things that bugs me about the whole electrical thing, polititions in particular ( but not just them ) throwing out statments that we will have this target or that target for vehicals by whatever date with no concept of the work that will need to go into upgrading and reinforcing the transmission grid and distrobution network to support all these vehical which will need charged. Just as an example, and apologies that I don't have a link to the paper, but its apparently estimated that if today we were to convert every car on the uk roads to electric, we would need the equivalent of 6 new nuclear power stations just to support this increased demand, at the moment our existing ones are reaching end of life, and there seems to be few plans to build new, were going to struggle to support the load we have with wind, let alone this new demand. Sorry that was all a bit ranty, its the background I have and its always annoying when you here statments and know those making them have NO concept of the major work thats going to be required to make it work. My other pet hate is news paper stories about how some we ned was saved by his new nike trainers while trespassing in a substation......but thats a rant for another night.

Scared the SH*T out of me !!!

I once had my brakes and clutch go at the same time, didn't really have much time to worry about it as it turned out the rest of the car was on fire at the time.

Travesty of the scrappage scheme ...

The whole electric car thing presents all sorts if problems, as alluded to above. If every car on the uk roads just now was changed for an electric one, we would need in the region of 7 new nuclear power stations over what we have now. We would need to upgrade the overhead line and cable network, build new substations, and generally be working on the infrastructure for the next 40 years. Don't get me wrong, this is what is going to happen, and long term it will be a good thing but most people when they casually talk about us all going electric, and doing it by a certain date, don't really understand what needs to be done in the back ground to make it work.
