  1. I've already managed to replace the nearside headlight unit and I'm now trying to remove the offside one. I've managed to undo both the wheel side fasteners and the front engine side but for the life of it I can't see how to get access to the rear engine side bolt. Has anyone managed to do this?
  2. Can anyone recomend a puller that can fit underneath the base of the wiper arm or indeed a hack. Mine seem to be well stuck and I want to paint them and the scuttle trim. Scrap this, I've just found something.
  3. Hi, I'd got some information on one of the Facebook pages about a multi-pin connector in the nearside footwell. This was also shown on a headlight wiring diagram I printed out but it didn't show the location. So, on Sunday gone I had a dig around in there and low & behold the red connector wasn't seated all the way in, gave it an inspection then pushed it all the way in. All lights are now working along with the horn and HICAS which also weren't functioning.
  4. I posted a while ago about my headlight problems and I've had a couple of auto electricians look at it without much success. Can anyone recommend a 300ZX specialist who also knows about electrics? Otherwise I'm left with a very expensive static display.
  5. Is there any difference between these 2 filters other than the stabilising brackets, the expensive one doesn't give dimensions.
  6. Is this damaged mesh critical, if so can it be replaced or will I need a new one? Also, would replacing the stock airbox for a cone filter be beneficial other than gaining better access to stuff down there?
  7. Thanks Andrew, tried a search but must have asked wrong as nothing came up.
  8. Is it possible to remove the headlights without taking the bumper off
  9. Me and my daughter do a roadtrip each year about this time of year. This year we decided to do the Republic of Ireland and extend our usual 4 days to 5. This is the first time I've had to see just what the ZX is capable of. Sarah who being an ex karter can pedal very competently has a 986 Boxter which is known for it's sweet handling so is a good benchmark. The good news is both cars performed faultlesly over the 1.3k plus miles in very hot temperatures and I was very impressed with the way mine performed and Sarah commented on how good it looked when she was following me, especially when her car is shod with newish PS4'S while mine has 12 year old Continentals. Things I noticed with mine are, it's very comfortable over long seat time, the windscreen didn't get anywhere near the bug splatter as the Porsche, there's very little buffeting with the roof panels off or indeed with the windows down as well. My last two weekend toys were a TVR Tamora and a Lotus Elise S1 which are both fantastic sports cars and although the ZX is more of a GT car, I'm very happy with it. Roll on Scotland next year.
  10. Yep, checked and good.
  11. My front side and head lights aren't working. The tail lights are working and the audio head unit dims when the switch is turned. The fuses are fine. Any ideas?
  12. The warning light has come on and on other sites I've seen posts saying it can be caused by low hydraulic fluid. How high should it be? They also said to use ATF but how can I tell if if that's what is already in? The power steering is unaffected.
  13. With the better weather lately I've been able to get out and about in the car and I've a slight problem with the indicators. The telltale lights on the dash are difficult for me to see. I'm 6'2" with long body so they are partially obscured by the steering wheel and also the glass panels reflect on that part of the binicle as well. Add to this the the fact the flasher unit click is quite quiet, I've found I've left them on a bit too long at times So, is it relatively easy to change the warning light bulbs to LEDs and possible to change the flasher unit to a louder one. If so, where is it located.
  14. What's the best way on running wires from the cabin to the battery?
  15. Can anyone recommend good quality overmats with the correct fitting holes?
  16. I gather you're not familiar with some of the iconic landmarks of Newcastle upon Tyne which is almost 300 miles from Bristol. 😂
  17. Finally got a few little jobs done on my recently acquired Z so I can now post a few photos.
  18. Will this work? eBay14 Pin For Nissan Consult Interface USB Car Diagnostic OB...1x 14 Pin For Nissan OBD Interface. Interface fitting for 14 pin diagnostic socket for Nissan vehicles built between 1989 and 2001 (No OBD-II compliant). Interface fitting for 14 pin consult port o...
  19. Is there a reader available for the consult port?
  20. Is there a fuse for just the sidelight?
  21. While rummaging around the fusebox area I noticed these two connectors not attached to anything. Anyone know what they're for?
  22. Does anyone know the way to de-pin the stock audio female connector? I've tied all of my de-pinning tools that fit but nothing works.
  23. Interesting but I don't really want to keep the bumper off until the potential delivery time quoted.
  24. Number plate lights & bracket. View Advert Having removed the rear bumper to enable me to fit a reversing camera and have neat wiring, I've found that (a) there's no light covers and (b) the bracket is severely rusted.
