  1. Given the impending dark evenings, I started the process of sorting out my "slow returning" seatbelts. After being advised that Sillicone spray would solve my problem, I had a good look at the belt and belt area to see how I would be able to spray the belt itself. Here is a picture of what I found... I guess that answers why my return is so slow...same setup on the passenger side too. I am thinking this is "not normal" and I need to remove the panel to make sure the seatbelt sits "outside" the trim...? If so, any special tool need to remove the trim or is it just matter of removing the screw(s) that hold the trim in place? Answers on a postcard! Thanks, Phil
  2. Here's hoping I can join you on the stand next year! Cars are looking superb, as ever.

  4. @JaiKai - when you say "mine" do you mean yours to keep, or might it be for sale (from the rolling shell) ?!?!?
  5. Here is the dash with lights on and lights off I will take a picture of the back of the clocks when the Mrs is "out". If she sees me heading into the Garage with a screwdriver, I will need a trip to A&E to remove it...
  6. It was not may "handiwork", this is how it came to me!
  7. Nick, noting wrong with the clocks except ... an aftermarket speedo dial has been stuck on and the lighting it all wrong. The speedo does nto show up in the dark...pictures to follow! If the clocks don't need changing, then I won't! Still in the "advice" phase of ownership!
  8. Greetings! Just removed the following from my 95 TT Auto as it was "louder" than stock and I am trying to keep as OEM/Stock as possible. It is in good condition and I can vouch for the "enhanced" noise it makes, as can a number of drivers on the M25 and M4! Open to sensible offers around the £250 mark (plus carriage). If you wish to collect, I am based in Kent. I will also throw in the "gorgeous" carbon-fibre effect slam panel if you make a charitable donation to the Dogs Trust! TT4N, Phil
  9. It's home! Picked up from Jimmer yesterday - despite the 3 hour journey home and a faulty Speedo convertor, it's now garaged up. Will post some pictures after my daily chores! Can now start the small jobs such as new Speedo, new kick plates, bodywork, new stereo and new wheels! Winter is coming...😏
  10. Morning, Punters! Looking for a Speedo Cluster for my 95 TT. Current one is fine but has a DIY hack to convert it to MPH (stick on speedo dial which doesn't light up properly). I know @JaiKai was offloading his rolling shell but not sure if he kept the clocks! Thanks, Phil
  11. Picked the car upw from Lewes this morning and drove 130 miles to PowerZed. No alarms and no surprises, as a great man once sung...! Nervous weekend ahead whilst Jimmer does a 120k service and inspection. A new exhaust is in order as the current one (possibly a JapSpeed) is just too loud (for me). Keep an eye out for it in the For Sale section! Bose Sound System still works well but brakes nay need an upgrade as I'm a bit Larry Leadfoot. Overall, first impressions are good. Still not sure about these 'items' even though Jimmer says they are much sought after in the US...the wheels may need to change as well!
  12. I can be around for the Saturday and a bit of Sunday if that helps!
  13. As promised, will try to document the journey of Z ownership interrupted...my TT Auto being sold in 2008. Here it is in all it's pre resto glory. It is a 1995 TT 2+2 Auto with circa 69k on the clock. There is "some" history but nothing comprehensive. Mechanically, it appears sound - started on the button from cold and warmed up nicely with no noticeable smoking from the exhaust. It appears to have had a new exhaust and 18" wheels - which will both, more than likely, be returned to stock (parts availbility permitting). There are a few mroe Z Centre bits of bling that will need to go as well - kick plates and chrome cials for example. First order of business is a full 120k service and check over at Power Zed with any alarming issues being addressed ASAP. It is then my intention to follow an OEM+ style resto (no Fast and Furious fan here - Think more of a Kill Bill style Fairlady Z). I will probably re-trim where approriate (door cards are a good place to start) and ultimately look at a re-spray - silver was not my first choice, but I can see its charm... Early days but am carrying a lot of hope and enthusiasm which will no doubt evaporate at some point!
  14. Afternoon All, After a few aborted attempts to get myself a Z in the UK, I have turned my attention to the Motherland! Have found a potential candidate, and wanted to throw it open for some comments (seeing as I have asked Jiimer twice about potential buys, and not followed through on either!) I'd be happy to hear comments and any advice about the whole Japan import process - am looking to use either Algys Autos out of Bristol (bargain basement) or Torque GT (premium, but have not had a price yet). The car is 1999 TT Auto with 63k KMs and full history. Price to the uk will be about 18k all in (before a mechanic get's his hands on it and tells me I've bought a lemon!). The pics are a bit low res, but will hope to get some more when I have get close to concluding negotiations! Thanks for reading! Phil
  15. Morning Forumites/Zeddites/All (delete as applicable), Am working on something "new" as my previous project did not "pan out". Without giving too much away, what would the recommendations (products and workshops) for undersealing be? Seeing as post 95 models don't have any, I wondered what others had done to address this issue and what they had found by doing so. Virtual coffees supplied for helpful comments! Thanks, PhilD
  16. Just a quick update - yearly sub has been paid. Hoping to start a journal for the car next week...! Apologies in advance for the stupid posts and lack of "searching" old posts! 😏 Oh, how I have missed the "special" odour of those wilton carpets! Phil
