  5. All sorted now. After all my efforts stripping the instrument pod down several times.. It was a wire that had been caught in my handbrake when I fitted a new gaitor, and re-assembled the centre console.. causing my lights to short out :headvswal Another wonderful Zed moment... You can't beat em (shame) But a happy man now.. Back on the road :D :nana2:
  6. Like the car.. Love the spotless driveway  :D
  7. Got a similar problem buddy http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=70863&highlight=lights
  8. Hi Buddy, the problem I have is, I have recently fitted a new DVD player and it blew the 'illumination' fuse in the fuse box (drivers footwell)..Replaced & fine. Then fitted front spotlights.. and fine. A couple of evenings later I turned my lights on, and the cockpit started filling with smoke. I stripped the instrument cluster down, and most of the wiring on the back block connector on the lights switch were melted about 8-10 inches. The red and blue wire was melted right down to the block connector just above the fuse box (drivers footwell). I removed the instrument cluster & as far as I could get to into the main loom, replaced all the burnt wiring, but there is a small section I cannot get to without taking the dashboard out, which I want to avoid if I can. So there is an approx 12 inch section I don't know the condition of the wiring. The red and blue power wire that was completely melted, I have replaced the whole wire, bypassing the loom from the lights connector to the fusebox connector. I put an in-line fuse on this red and blue wire to avoid further meltdown. I have put it all back together, and the lights worked fine. I then started the car, moved it around on the driveway, and the in-line fuse blew.. to cut a long story short, every time I strip it all down (approx 10 times) it works for as long as the car is sat still, but on start-up it blows again, leaving main beam & brake lights working, but no side lights, rear lights or instrument lights (fuse box fuse for illumination OK). Recently fitted: Front spot lights - now removed the wiring DVD stereo & seperate screen Metal pedals After market steering wheel - horn wired OK, but not working ?? Any advice appreciated mate, as I have done as much as I can now, apart from replace the actual light switch/strip the dashboard out ?? I have put up a post for a new connector with wiring, and switch. Hope to hear back from you. Many thanks, IanFraser (everyone calls me Fraser) GUMBALL
  9. Hi all, anybody know of a good auto electrician for my Zed based in Southampton? Or anybody just good with car electrics... Got a short on my lights somewhere. Thanks, GUMBALL
  10. Hi mate, I have the same thing in my Zed Strosek... 335 P Zero's on 18's on the back. Only find it if I'm going faster than I should be on a bumpy back road, otherwise fine. Doesn't seem to damage the tyres thank fook  If it only does it on one side, I would adjust that shocker up. I believe the passenger side suspension has to work harder in the UK... Clockwise roundabouts etc. GUMBALL
  11. Much appreciated Vijay. CheerZ, Buddy. GUMBALL :)
