A bit far for me matey peeps. Not the distance. It's the time. I do shiftwork and i just no can do. The reason I've mailed is to wish you all the best and much success with the event. Get lots of pics for us saddened, unable to attending Zedders.
  2. Bought mine thru e-bay mate. I use the word thru as I never bid, just contacted the seller direct and asked him what he'd take in cash. £3,600. Got me a good'un. Could of gone the other way though, I am more than aware of that. Luck o' the draw I guess. Sympathies all round, now lets move forward. Follow up the dudes offer of a replacement engine and see if any of the brothers found herein can hook you up with a good and tended replacement and get your man to pay for it. Butchers Dog time I'm afraid mate. Try not to let this one go. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
  3. At £1300 it might be worth buying so that YOU can make the 3k-4k in parts yourself. This would buy another proper one.
  4. Always open to quality advice Glenn,. What would you recommend?
  5. HellRaiser, this ones for you. Yippee !!! Problem solved. Bl***y HKS Iridium Plugs. One of 'em had not performed as required and went all black 'n crispy lookin'. Out with 'em. Now replaced with a new set of good 'ole NGK Platinum's. Had it explained that the Iridium plugs only benefit long term, high revving, high temperature engine's. After all, the S40i's are racecar technology. Personally, I never abuse my now 15 year old engine (well, only when I have to, snigger. Had a right smirk at a shiney Pug 607 driver earlier. Will they never learn?) So, I don't really need the super high spec plugs. Running like a swiss watch again. Thankyou Herbie and Andy for all your advice and patience. Horses for courses I guess. If memory serves, wasn't there a plug poll?
  6. Thankyou AndyP. Finally, at last. Eureka!!!!!!
  7. Evening gents, what does this remind you of? http://cars.uk.msn.com/news/car_news_article.aspx?cp-documentid=885369
  8. Hi guys, I guess the over 50 rule does apply here.I'm with the RAC. I'm 51 and pay £319.00 Fully comp with a years membership inc roadside recovery etc.
  9. Ever thought of using your cruise control mate and letting the computer do it for you?
  10. Cheers for that Legrath. Have PM'd Slick Pete. Fingers crossed. Nice to get a headsup from a fellow Devonian.
  11. Hello there my fine fellows. Wanting to replace my coil packs. Remember a guy on here once who said he had loads of 'em, brand new, ready to ship. Done a search under 'Coil Packs', d'ya think I can find him? Noooooooo!! Any ideas who this might have been chaps? (and chapettes.)
  12. P.S. Just wanted to say, here is an example of the benefits of using the same filling station for your thirsty hobby. They knew the gas cap was mine so they put it behind the counter as they now know that I get to say hi every coupla days thanks to my thirsty distraction. Y'see, there are decent people out there.
  13. Hi Y'all, My Z needs a good tune up too. Does anybody know if there is an even better place to get mine pampered in a similar fashion in the Devon area ?
  14. First thing to check in the AM then. Thanks for the advice bud. Liking the way your'e keeping your ride unmolested. Take a look at me in the RIDES section of the site. I think you'll find we have something in common.
  15. Will do HR, cheers. Newbie to the Z myself (Febuary), so forgive the naivity. Do these things go from good to bad overnight?
  16. Thanks Greg, thanks HR. Been bothering me all night. Just took it for a ZIPPPP!!!! up the A38. When I give it a footfull it goes like I know it can. Dropped it in to cruise control at 72 mph to let it run steady, low gear 2500 revs, overdrive on. Very, very lumpy. Think of the beginning of the song Blue Moon........ Ba-Baba-ba-a-Ba-Baba-ba. Get the picture?
  17. Yeah, thats it HR. Hesitates?, yes, safe say it hesitates. Didn't look at the rev counter tho', couldn't see it thru the tears.
  18. Thanks for the headsup greg. I put unleaded fuel into the petrol tank. £40.23 from the only garage I buy my fuel from ( I can supply address details if required ), and I did not get a VAT receipt. MY CAR STILL RUNS LIKE A PIG !!!!! There you go Greg, what do you advise? HellRaiser and myself are all eyes.
  19. OK guys, this one has p****d me right off. Filled up my ride Saturday night with petrol. Dumba** that I am, forgot to put filler cap back on. No problemo, straight to H*LF**DS for a replacement, nifty thing, plastic thing with a turnable centre thingy to turn and lock down nice 'n tight. Drove car to work as usual and from nowhere started to run like a pig. Best way to describe symptoms are what I would imagine dirty fuel might do or a blocked something causing fuel starvation. Garage saved my cap so went to collect on way home from work thinking maybe some technology in the factory fitted one. Some venting or breathing issue. Anyway, replaced the cap and guess what?.................. STILL RUNNING LIKE A PIG, symptoms as before. Never had a problem since the day I got it, all that's changed is that for a short while (60 miles) car had a none standard filler cap. I'm stumped. Can anyone shed any light?
  20. OK guy's. Here's a new one. Where's the best place to get an oil cooler? Go!
  21. Oop's I meant gentleMEN. A bit squiffy don't ya know, hic!
  22. Seems to me gentleman ( and ladies), that this is a simple case of prevention being better than cure, No?
  23. Sorry Glenn, sorry Danny.
